Clicked off and wont come on
My Hitachi 57S715 just did the same thing. I've been told it could be a power supply problem or the lamp. Still investigating. Did you ever get a final answer to this?

Video input from dvd player shows as black screen w/ squigly color lines
have you tried other devices for input...vcr, or other dvd players to see if it is a problem with the player or with the tv? Check the output setting for the dvd player (1080i etc) and ensure you are connecting to the proper inputs for either analog or digital signals (RCA inputs or RGB).

Tv power
You did not say if any lights are lighting up on the unit. If the red LED is lighted or blinking your power supply, and fuses, are probably OK. If the LED is blinking it means that you probably have a problem in the high voltage circuit. Usually the Horizontal Output Transistor is shorted. Could be caused by a power surge, lightning strike or shorted flyback. If you know TV safety, how to use a DMM, soldering techniques and are good with tools you might be able to fix this. Unplug and open the unit by removing the back. The HOT is near the flyback (a large round cylinder with a large red wire coming out of it) usually on the right side, mounted to a large piece of aluminum (used as a heat sink). Using a DMM check the HOT. If shorted this is your problem. Replace the HOT and the flyback. Check all resistors and diodes in the circuit for problems and replace any out of specification. This may solve your problem. If not the HV Block could be shorted also. This is part of the same circuit and is where the wire from the flyback goes. If after replacing all these parts the unit still is not working you will proabably need a repair tech to look at it. If you do not feel confident doing any of the repairs listed above seek the help of a reputable repair shop. This repair should not be very expensive in relation to the cost of the set. Good luck.
Picture quality
The output from your sat reciver is not HD unless it says right on it that it is . The signal your getting now is a digital signal from the dish to the reciver, but from the reciver to the TV set, it is analog. To answer short and sweet, Yes, you will need an HD reciver for the satallite to get the most out of your HD TV set. Good Luck

Change input on Hitachi LCD TV model LE65K6R9 without remote?
I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Here are other alternatives: Using physical buttons: You can find the physical buttons on the left or right back side of the Hitachi TV. Using these keys, you can change the input, adjust the volume, or turn on Hitachi TV without a remote. Press the Input button located at the back or side of the Hitachi TV. The list of connected sources will appear on the TV screen12.
Using external devices: Connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your Hitachi TV and change the input1.
Buy a universal remote: You can buy a universal remote to control your Hitachi TV and change the source.
