Something is preventing the power supply from operating: Possible causes in order of likelihood: 1) Convergence amps failed overloading the supply (See if you can disconnect them) 2) High Voltage circuit has died. (Right on schedule since your TV is 10 years old) 3) One of the CRTs has shorted 4) The power supply itself has died (Is there a lot of dust covering it?) See if you can isolate the failure by working down the list.

If the TV is an analog only you will need to get a digital converter box to be able to use a digital antenna. You can find this online by doing a Google search or you can try Ebay they have a bunch of them 662results for tv digital converter box

u need to be able to access the ad9883 submenu by first accessing the ez main menu to balance the colour offset gain for red blue green cos they are not balanced u will need the factory values of that tv model

go to the ez adjust menu and reset the factory values do not select the ad9883 u may damage the tv u will need a tech

If using a cable box, disconnect it and set first from power for a while and power back----box and set will try to "reboot" which may or may not help--worth trying.

If the set is 3d or colors skewed look to see if set has "magic focus" which is auto convergence---it may or may not help. Also look in customer menu for convergence to see if you can call it up with the remote-----a set with this: if red or blue lines will not move in some direction(not adjust) one of the two stk convergence chips is bad.Kits are available and it can be a do it yourself repair---look first to see if convergence will not adjust and if you have that let me know if you need advice----for example: red will move up/down but not left right.SD TECH

U have the tv original remote wright?Yes,look in at the tv remote control,look for a button that said CC pushes that CC button a couples of times u will get CC1,2,3.. one of this CC modes will give ur tv a subtitle wording known as Close Captioning,if the tv program offer it.It will tell u in the beginning of the tv program.

I am sorry for the trouble.

This is a common problem with these products.

Please initially check that the leads from the sat box/cable box you may be using are home both at the cable/sat box and the tv itself make sure they are home you may have to push on the plugs then if no go ....

Is it like this on other inputs like a dvd or vcr please?

If you press the menu button of the sets own remote control is the color on the menu screen good or bad?

If you observe that the magic focus text is perfectly green, then it is not a good news. There are few issues i have seen with these sets in my shop which matches the condition you description :

The set has 3 tubes red/green/blue now you have got green because you have seen it when the convergence shuffles on the magic focus, the problem is the signal for the green drive for the picture is missing so checks initially will need to be made on the green tube card to see what is happening here, like a failed transistor dry/cold joints or even the tube itself
Can you use a multimeter and can use a soldering iron?

For me to help you (I think I know what is wrong and it is fairly simple to correct) I need to ASK you something.

If you turn the color all the way to zero and go to a channel that is in black and white, what color is the screen?

If it is red or redish a simple adjustment will correct this problem.

Is the picture with color down to zero on a black and white channel (old movies) red looking?

The color setting is probably too high. Access the color setting and lower it.

• Press MENU on the remote
• Select VIDEO
• Then select COLOR
• Lower the color adjustment
