The fault can be many but it is in the main board that the fault has come about.
check for power, fault in the convergence IC or failrue of the drivers.check if there is capacitors that have leaked/weakened or shorted.
A good test must be done only if you are familiar with electronics other wise do not tamper the board.
Check the fuses or any open resistors to the board

You Dont need one your set is HD. So when the switch happens you are good to go. The only TVs that are going to need converter boxes is those who do not have HD or only have antenna.

HAVE electronic technition replace filtor capacitors in 9v and 5v circuits. J.D.W.

Unfortunately I think you are going to have to give a repair tech a call....................or

you can run your audio thur a A/V Receiver and by-pass your 51F710A speakers altogether

I have not used the speakers on my TV's in over 10 years

Did you try the default codes of 0000, 1234 and 1111?

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice.

hitachi model 51f510 projection tv has horizontal lines & has greenish tint,do i need to chang the bulbs??i alredy tryd the magic focus button & manual focus,but unsuccesfl,any ideas????

hitachi is known for bad solder connections on plug connectors between the two main big boards

Need to press PIP button on TV remote or go to TV menu and turn off PIP feature.

If you broke the RCA connector you can purchase another at Radio Shack or similar electronic store.Remove the back cover and replace the connector

If the TV comes on but the screen wont, try pressing

1. Press Menu on remote
2. Press Select (Defaults to video)
3. Arrow down 9 times (Reset Video Settings)
4. Press Select twice (I think) or you may have to Arrow down and Press Select.

Your driver tranzistor in the main power board is in shortcircuit,change and check the voltage is out the secunder circuit.

they r known 4 shady processer boards not hard to solve call pts electronics give model #will send u new board around 120$ not diffucult to instal must discharge cicutrt then ground install new board or may short micr precesses
