Contact your service provider and ensure they add mobile hotspot feature to your account. Then configure it using wpa2 and enter the wireless WiFi password when you have enabled it on your phone. Be sure to turn it off when not in use. Mark Motorola Support

This isn't as bad as you think. Usually it's just as simple as plugging in the device with the cable provided [Also doubles as a charger] Your Windows Vista or newer pc or pretty much any apple with install all the software needed for drivers and then you will see it pop up either under [Windows] Start --> Computer --> and look for your device in the list. From here you can just drag and drop your photos from the folder labeled [DCIM] and plop them on your desktop. With apples it should immediately open and display it at the bottom in your hotbar launcher. If this doesn't work... that means you had a Retail Wireless Consultant that dropped the ball. My Moto Migrate is an app you can use to do this. What model phone do you currently have? If it is a DROID you should have the contacts on your Google Account if you phone syncs to Google/Gmail.

You can try to clear cache and force stop to the clock by going in to go to settings>apps. In there slide your finger until you see all your apps and look for the clock.
