Music Transfer Problem

Make sure the songs are in the correct format - Mp3 would be best.

If they are all in the correct format, then reformat the player:
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

IFP-395T (AA Batteries)

Probably a hardware issue, but the issue could also be with your USB port - make sure that there are no yellow exclamations next to the usb port in the PC device manager.

The battery indicator might not be stable during the following activities because they use large amounts of power:

1. The backlight of the LCD
2. Volume change
3. Pressing function keys and buttons
4. Reading the CD or files (Loading data to the memory)

The battery indicator shows the life expectancy of the battery based on current power usage. During these high power usage activities, that may only last a few seconds, the indicator will obviously show a lower level on the battery indicator. Once the high power activity has ended it will show a more accurate battery level.

IFP-380T MP3 Player Problem (doesn't turn it on)

Here's my shortcut:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Here is a suggestion from the iRiver website - you may want to visit that website, b/c their "Ask Alice" tech support feature is actually quite good:
The players come with a CD that contains drivers and software that enable the player to download data from a PC. Insert the CD in the computer's CD drive, and connect the player to the PC with the USB cable. (Help with USB cable connections) The PC should automatically detect the device. The New Hardware Installation Wizard will automatically launch and the installation process will start.
If the above procedure does not occur on your PC, please manually install the driver. Use the links below for instructions:
If you still have trouble, the issue may be with the computer chipset. iriver has tested many PCs and discovered that this only occurs in a small number of main boards.

When connecting iRiver Clix with computer, it charges only the battery. How can I put it in USB mode?

It is circa 2007 so probably looking Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11. Not compatible with your computer Operating System is the most likely reason. You may be able to force the computer to look for drivers. https://www.google.com/search?q=Iriver+clix ..
