Deleted files

You may try some recovery software to rescue the files on your MP2 player, here are some for your option.
Photo Video Music Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Music Recovery for Mac

Both programs can also recover video and music. Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the player in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

What I really need is directions on how to use the MP3, would like answer today so I can give this tomorrow for Valentines???

MP3 PLAYERS When you connect the MP3 player to your computer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as an external storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder on your MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the player exactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. To organise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album and place the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from the computer into this folder. You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music album folder. To delete a file from your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and then plug it into the USB port of your computer. The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view the files, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and then press the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. Click on this link for instructions on converting video files for MP3 players :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5874192-play_videos_mp3_player MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. I have an ifp 790

What type of Windows 7 do you have? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? If you have 32-bit, then iRiver Music Manager should work. However, if you have 64-bit, it will not work, according to a phone call I made to iRiver several months ago. I had the same problem as you, and so I called iRiver and that is what they told me, and then I exchanged my 64-bit computer for a 32-bit computer and now the iRiver Music Manager works.
