I am having problems with my nvidia GeForce 6800

You may have adjusted the video settings of the games to higher settings that may not be compatible with your card.
While in a game press the windows key and D together.
If you go back to desktop it means the video settings of your games are to set higher than your card can support.
Hope this helps.
For further assistance please feel free to ask me.

I am having problems with my nvidia GeForce 6800

i suspect youyr graphics card is heating up and shutting off to prevent damage. windows will also shut it off but usually repaorts that it did. here is my reccomendation:
1. open side case and place a fan right nest to it. if this makes it work then heat is definitely trhe culprit. if so install a video card cooler or another exhaust fan.
2 turn all the graphics options down on the game. shut anti aliasing off and all options to minimun. then try to play if it still shuts off then your card may be on its last leg from over heating. the 6800 gt was ok when it came out but todays games require more. in fact the newer games won't run on a 6800 gt.
the big thing is heat. the standard 6800 gt just doesn't get rid of enough heat. in fact the 9800 gt i had overheated and burned out. i stay away from gt and now use gtx cards. they have a better cooler and ususally the vent outside of the case.

Is this card for AGP or PCI-E?

these cards come both ways..This is a first generation PCIe card, but some were made with an AGP bridge that allowed them to be used in a AGP slot. You will need to visually inspect the your card. Here is a good description of both and AGP and PCIE slot-- http://www.kids-online.net/learn/click/details/agp.html

I am thinking about buying a 9800gtx+ video card

That board has PCI, PCI Express and PCIx16 interfaces. So if the video card has any of those interfaces, it should work.

I think my video card's messed up.

Getting two beeps at the beginning of a post can be a number of things. If you have more than one stick of ram, remove all but one and try starting the computer. If it doesnt boot try all other ram individually. If it does boot then you have a bad memory module. If it continues to fail, it could be your processor, motherboard, a number of things. Try the ram and get back to me and we will move on from there.

No signal on screen after install the new VGA card

No, you dont need any power to the Graphics card.

But make sure that the monitor is connected to the new graphics card that you have installed and not on the on-board VGA card. That should do it for you !

What year did the 8400 come ?

Most reviews list the 8400 as launched in august 2007. There are probably hundreds of driver versions, but I would recommend always using the latest version (highest number)

Sony playstation three plays in black and white

If you're using component cables (red/green/blue) it usually means that you have the cable ends mixed up. Other than that, the PS3 shouldn't output black and white, so it would be a TV setting or cable problem.

NVIDA 8400

I don't know if you have tried this yet, but here goes......
When the PC first powers up, hit the F2 or delete key to enter the setup page. See if there is a spot where you can disable the onboard graphics, then save the settings, reboot the PC, and see if this helps the problem. And there is always the chance that the graphics card is no good. And nothing but a return, and a new card will solve the problem.

9400Gt won't work anymore

Hello tainted feat,

Please download DriverSweeper:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-(Setup)_d1655.html
Reboot into SafeMode and select the Nvidia drivers and PhysX. Select only those. Do not delete the chipset drivers. Reboot into normal mode and then go here to download drivers.

This should work. Good luck
