There's a small wire inside the speaker that broke on mine. I matched one from another fisher price toy and cut wires and dropped the new one in and good as new..

I know you can get these on Ebay. Also most NI-MH 9 volt battery charges will charge this battery pack. You can use a 9 Volt Snap Battery Connector with Alligator Clips to bridge the connection between the battery pack and the NI-MH 9 volt batter charger. This is how I charge this battery pack now. You can probably get the 9 Volt Snap Battery Connector with Alligator Clips at a radio shack or on Amazon... as well as a NI-MH 9 volt battery charger.. don't hook up the leads backwards :)

Remove the battery pack from his foot (a screw holds the door shut). The back has a wire which you disconnect then from the toy - (its a shrink wrapped collection of normal rechargeable AA batteries) but don't open the pack. The voltage of the charger you need depends on how many AA batteries are in the pack. Bring this battery pack a shop that does Radio control Cars or Boats - a hobby shop - and they should be able match up a charger to the battery pack you have. These kind of chargers are shared between lots of toys - connectors are usually the same. You could also get one that matched on ebay.

Mom to mom- if it's something s/he going to outgrow soon, hit yard sales you can find a charger that will work adequately for just a little while longer. Just make sure that the voltage and the symbols on it are the same on both the charger and the toy. My mom did it with our stuff, and I did it was all of mine and never failed. Or if its a super favorite toy- craigslist. Little more money but I get it. Good luck
