Set the time by moving the big hand forward, pausing at the 11 o'clock position. Listen for the subtle sound of a spring unwinding before moving further. Move the big hand to the 12 o'clock position. Pause and listen for the clock to strike the number of times indicated by the little hand.
You probably have a bad light switch. Could maybe be the bulb but with the flickering after you turn the switch off, the switch it is intermetinaly (sp) giving it power.

There should be instructions in the box? All the connectors should be marked. The base has a mains plug and then there is normally a multi-way connector with letters A-A, B-B, C-C etc on the strands. These new mini LED Lights have a connector at both ends, so you just daisy chain them all together.
There are lots of places selling them, but no online instructions yet.

These units never have spares available. The made in bulk in China for a couple of dollars and have the Sharp name printed on them. You either buy a new one, or you might be able to take the old sensor to a local electronics engineer to see if your sensor can be repaired.

In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of water, ¼ cup of vinegar, and ¼ cup of lemon juice into ½ cup of baking soda.
Scoop the mixture over the grout lines.
Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
If needed, lightly work the mixture into the tile grout using a toothbrush.
Rinse with a towel and warm water.
It depends on the make, but recliners of the La-z-boy type do have adjustment as mentioned in the link. It reduces or increases the spring tension which affects the 'rock'. You could also phone them and ask to speak to the salesman that sold it to you. He / she should know if it is adjustable and how.
Don't rub oil on it, especially cooking oil as suggested in the post I am just about to delete!
