There are only two parts of a toilet that go bad...the fill valve which lets the water in, and the flap which lets the water out when the handle is depressed. When you look into the toilet tank, if you can hear the water running, look to see if it is high enough to be spilling over into the tube....if that is the case, the fill valve is bad...if you hear the water running, then stopping, then starting again...your problem is the flapper that is leaking slightly. Hope this helps...

Pooling 'just' around the drain grate..as in on the metal surrounding any screen has happened to me as the shower grate is lower than the lip it sits in..and the grate is domed a little from body weight on it. It can stretch has no where to go and the edges retain water...that leaves a scummy residue after it dries. Siliconing around the edge of a bad grate drain is not a solution as the silicon stains as well. Refitting the grate may help.

Replace the battery and be ready to replace the fire alarm (smoke detector).
Depending on type of detector, it may be able to be taken apart, disassembled for cleaning. Cobweb, dust, etc. can upset the detector sensor eye.

I push the 'set' button about 5 sec until it flashes, push 'set' to move to the next item. My Pacific time I set to -8, set DST to On,
The buttons are questionable as to how effective they are when used.

yes you can, there are can crushers that are made to also crush plastic bottles. You can tell which can crush plastic bottle because they usually come with a hole in the bottom for the cap and neck of the bottle to stick out when you are crushing them. This also helps to hold the bottle in place.

Please verify that the leak is coming from where the tank joins with the bowl first. More often water leaks from the float assembly, where it seals to the tank. If it is in fact leaking from where you stated. Did the toilet come assembled or did you attach the tank? You may want to exchange it or drain the water out, disassemble the two halves and inspect all three mating surfaces. Let me know if there is anything else. Good luck.
