Performax 12-1/2 in. planer, model 240-3749. How can I get a replacement motor?
I couldn't find an illustration of the planer so don't know whether it is a compact bench jointer, a portable thicknesser or a workshop planer/thicknesser where any suitable motor can easily be adapted to fit, often representing large savings over the machine manufacturer's prices.
Replacement motors and motor parts for integrated machinery often become obsolete quickly or are available but are priced not to sell and an otherwise good machine has to be replaced.
There are many companies around the world offering small motor rewinds, usually at prices far less than a replacement motor, offering the chance to make an otherwise obsolete tool useful again.
How to take off pedals on a big wheel
you probably have to pry off the push on fasteners and replace them with new ones when you are done. they are hammered or pressed on. available at any home store like home depot or lowes and online too of course https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1OKWM_enUS816US816&sxsrf=ALeKk01_a4C3xf2h-j6SJaSa5q3BK5hhKQ%3A1607609667442&ei=Qy3SX8XFGo2P9PwPyJ692As&q=puch+on+fasteners&oq=puch+on+fasteners&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzIJCAAQyQMQDRAeMgYIABANEB4yBggAEA0QHjIGCAAQDRAeMgYIABANEB4yCAgAEA0QBRAeMggIABANEAUQHjIICAAQDRAFEB4yCAgAEA0QBRAeMggIABANEAUQHjoECCMQJzoFCAAQkQI6CAgAELEDEIMBOgsILhCxAxDHARCjAjoFCAAQsQM6BQguELEDOggIABCxAxDJAzoLCC4QsQMQxwEQrwE6CAgAEMkDEMQCOgUIABDEAjoFCC4QxAI6CAguELEDEIMBOgQIABADOgQIABBDOgQIABAeOgYIABAKEB46CAgAEBYQChAeOgYIABAWEB46CwgAEMkDEA0QChAeOggIABAIEA0QHjoJCAAQyQMQFhAeUNhCWN1nYPxoaABwAXgAgAGiAYgBjQ-SAQQyLjE1mAEAoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdpesABAQ&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwiF86jZzMPtAhWNB50JHUhPD7sQ4dUDCA0&uact=5
Cal-Hawk 240-3016 Bench Sander. Does anyone have a user manual?
Manuals aren't thick on the ground - a google search provides only vague references, however all is not lost as this type of sander is often a generic type label engineered with only minor variations to reflect a price range.
The machines tend to be so similar a manual for almost any brand that looks even vaguely like yours will provide the basic information.
The machines are intuitive to use and you shouldn't have any problems and the hardest thing about them is cleaning the disc prior to sticking a new abrasive disc on.
They are a very useful machine especially to a woodworker and the disc sander will allow the end grain of timber to be sanded smooth accurately to the desired angle.
How do you turn off water under sink to change reverse osmosis filters? I found the football shaped valve that goes to the hose. I turn the valve and water still runs so what am I doing wrong?
Open the RO tap and drain the RO tank (capture and use later). The tap will run a steady stream until tank empties. When tank empties the steady stream will switch to a drip, drip, drip,... This is normal and is the production output rate of the system.
If you capture the drips into a measured container a typical rate is 1 quart per hour, more or less given input line pressure and condition of system filters. Time how long it takes to capture a cup (8oz) and do the math.
The RO feed line is likely a piercing saddled type valve. It will take several turns (clockwise) to close the valve. Keep turning CW until it stops. With the tank empty (tap will drip, drip, drip,...) close the filter feed line valve and the drip, drip, drip will eventually stop, indicating the system no longer has water pressure.
