Need color codes
Do you need color codes for the deck.. they should be on a sticker on the unit itself...if you need color codes for the vehicle your driving thats another thing..does ur vehicle have a harnass?? Or was the stereo harnass and plugs cut?

Black = Ground (to vehicle chassis)
Yellow = Constant 12V (power)
Red = Accessory (to vehicle accessory terminal)
Blue/White = Remote turn-on lead (to remote amp)
Orange/White = Illumination (to vehicle light control switch)
Brown = Cell Phone terminal
White = Left Front Speaker positive (+)
White/Black = Left Front Speaker negative (-)
Gray = Right Front Speaker positive (+)
Gray/Black = Right Front Speaker negative (-)
Green = Left Rear Speaker positive (+)
Green/Black = Left Rear Speaker negative (-)
Violet = Right Rear Speaker positive (+)
Violet/Black = Right Rear Speaker negative (-)

Subwoofer instalation
Even if your JVC doesn't have outputs for a subwoofer you can hook it up with the a speaker wire to RCA converter.
You just spice your rear speaker wires to this device then connect RCA's to your amp.
I've used them before... works great.

My JVC-SD5 lights up, plays Music, but the lid won't open, any suggestions?
It seems like you're facing a little hiccup with your JVC-SD5. There's some troubleshooting ideas...

i kindly recommend that you check volume level is not set to mute.Also,ensure that the stereo is properly connected to the speaker.check if the speaker are working
