JVC HR-XVC27U DVD Player/VCR Questions & Answers
Is ther an HDMI cable
There is no HDMI OUT socket on this player. I don't enjoy giving negative answers, so if you could explain why you want to use an HDMI cable with this player, I can possibly make some suggestions which will help you to achieve whatever it is you are trying to do.
If you were simply looking to buy this or any other player and want one with an HDMI output, you should look for something else ;)
Hope this helps.
I have a JVC DVD
Shifting a heavy item, or anything really, can cause damage to either the cable or the port the cable is plugged into very easily.
I recommend replacing the audio cable, or trying an alternate audio output (you may be able to choose between RCA-style stereo audio output, digital PCM and digital optical.)
Similarly, the dvd player may be setup to output audio in a format that isn't matching what your AV receiver is expecting - again a variation of either stereo, digital rca or digital optical.
I hope that helps.
Dvd will not eject from jvc hr xvc27u dvd player
elsombro is right. There is a little whitish plastic square on the right side of the player, part of the DVD assembly (after you take off the cover). It's about 1/4 inch square. With the unit turned on, push that square with a pen about 3/4 of an inch in or as far as it will go. There will be a clunking sound but that is the sound of the DVD being released back onto the tray. Now gently push the back of the tray forward, ejecting the disk manually. Take the disk out and then press the close button. If the door doesn't close, it's out too far so manually push it in about an inch or so and then press the close button again. Should be fine after that. I think my problem was a DVD I recorded on my computer and it has the wrong format or something. After I got it out I put a regular DVD back in and everything was fine.
I have a large, heavy
Hello Jimcmay,
*Basically your DVD/VCR Combo has a basic Audio / Video Out jacks that you can run the yellow, white, and red cables to your TV's Audio/Video IN jacks.
*Then you have your Component Audio/Video out that runs into your TV's Audio/Video in jacks for your dvd player. The audio cables maybe used for surround sound.
---- If your TV has two sets of IN jacks then hook both sets of audio/video cables up and try it.I looked at the manual as well it appears they run both sets of audio/video cables to the tv. I know my LCD TV has two sets and is hooked up in the same way.
S-Video is for video only it does not utilize sound. This is just a different option rather than using the yellow video component cable.
Post back with any additional questions and I will assist you further.
How do you set the clock on this? If it is on auto
Most of the auto clock settings (or at least my unused VCR) were done from signal on the PBS NTSC signals. There are (generally) no NTSC channels anymore. It used to find them at 6am, noon, and 6pm but no midnight. With the switch to digital.... So it looks like manual setting from now on.
I do have a clock radio that gets some signal (AM or FM, I don't know which) with no known pattern but not wrong--requires DST switch.

VHS won't work
Had the same problem on my JVC vcr/dvd combo unit.
You need to turn off the timer function. I did this by making sure my remote was in the "VHS" mode...turn the swith from TV to the right (found on the remote in the upper left corner...an then hit the "vcr" button. Then point the remote at the VCR unit and hit the No. 4 button (timer turns off). Your unit should not have the red timer displayed and you should be able to play your tapes okay.
Hope this helps.
