so here is the fix if you get op en display on your casio pathfinder or whatever model. mine happens to be a paw 1200t1. you gotta break it open 2 pins each side band comes off.2. pry off the side pieces. this exposes 4 screws.3. the base then comes off be careful of the gasket. 4. once inside. notice a round circular object on the base and a small oval shiny gold copper piece. 5. For whatever reason the shiny copper piece has shifted and does not make contact with the tiny little springs there are 2 if you shift the base to make contact with the gold piece the op en goes away and watch is back to normal. 6. the fix is move this little piece back to where it belongs. i got lucky and the glue still held when i firmly moved it to its original location. super glue came to mind if it wont stay where it belongs.7. gasket orientation and cleaning out the gasket channel is a given i used welding tip cleaners to do the intricate work. under the bands are very grungy. mine is about 5-6 years old. reassemble the way it came out. if your battery is good and you get this op en look to your display for whatever reason this worked for me and if casio uses this as a warranty or warning of water coming in your watch it was a STUPID DUMB IDEA. those springs should be solid state and the watch is useless until it is fixed no light, no baro, no alt, no comp. notta and no buttons work. there is no reason whatsoever that this shiny copper thing shifts but it happened to me and my watch is working and my battery has had H or full power since day one.

Casio says open
The open code is saying that your case isn't closed properly. Without seeing it, it's hard to tell if you opened/closed the case correctly. If you believe it is closed properly, look in your user manual and see if there is a master reset button and try that. Did you change the battery yourself or did you have a jeweler do it?
Compass comes up with RECO, what does this mean?
If you use the backlight of the alarm a number of times during a short period, RECOV appears on the display. After some time, battery power will recover and RECOV will disappear, indicating that the above functions are enable again.

I left my watch in the dark for a along period of
If you left your watch in direct sunlight, there should be just 6-8 hours enough to recharge it. If there was no direct sunlight, it may take up to a week to revoke your watch. This corresponds only to watches powered by light. The energy cell in those watches is called capacitor, not battery.
If you are not sure what type of cell your watch has, leave it for a few days more in bright lightened place and then see if it works. If it does not - replace the capacitor (or battery if your watch isn't powered by light).

Older casio triple sensor has small metal
These small clips are just hooked around small prongs. You need a VERY small screwdriver (now that i think about it, a needle may work). Just pry the looped ends up and lift gently. I have done this a couple of times, however when I replace my batteries nothing happens. Last time I had to send it back - some info stated there was another battery deeper????? That is why I am looking into this now.

After changing the battery nothing can be changed, no function possible and"open" remains written on the display, the type of the battery is clt 1616
The battery is CTL 1616 and I had the same occurance when I opened up my model Casio model 3043. I needed to use the battery to test my model 2767 and find out if a new battery would bring it back to life (yes, it still lives). After replacing the battey back into my 3043, I jumped the (ac) to (-) and at first the watch would indicate all was well but then it would revert back to "open". I tried over and over to try and get the "open" display to clear but I was not successful. I then thought to go ahead and replace the back on the case to see if the three contact springs would change the display and sure enough, "open" no longer was in the display. The watch works perfectly as before. As for the 2767, as soon as I jumped the (ac) to (-) the "open" display went away. There is only one spring contact to the back case on the 2767 model. Unfortunately I do have an extra spring that fell out when I opened it up and I have no clue as to where it goes. I have not found anyone who can help me on the location for the shorter spring. Any advice would be most helpful.
I need a REPLACEMENT CTL 1616 battery for my Casio
I found one of these on ebay. Here's the item I ordered.

I used the instructions here to replace the battery myself:

Hope this helps.
Battery Replacement
Do not lay the tweezers across any contacts as you may damage the watch.
First you need to examine your watch movement and find an AC point (contact). It is embedded on movement. Use an eyeglass, as the writings can be very tiny.
When found, touch an AC point with one arm of tweezers and battery+ with another arm simultaneously.
Some watches needs to do that twice, so, to be sure, do that twice.
If
you are not comfortable with tweezers, you can use a thin wire,
connecting one end of the wire to AC point and another to battery+.
Each shortcut should last for 3 seconds.
Do not forget to rate, please.
Battery change
I received a message from a member of the group suggesting a solution to the problem. I followed his advice and the problem was solved. My thanks to him and to the group for the assistance.
Now I need a manual for the Casio CBX-102. This will be a gift to my grandson who is attending college and needs to understand how to use the Data Bank. If anyone can suggest a source for the CBX-102 Data Bank watch I'd appreciate it.
Thanks to all,
Bill D
