The red, green and blue colors do not line up correctly

This set is fairly easy to fix for this trouble. A AV48p30 usually takes me about 40 minutes to fix for this problem.

It uses two of the STK-392-110 convergence chips. The repair involves two things--getting at the chips (easy) and being able to unsolder them and replace them.

You can buy almost everything you will need on Ebay for under 30 dollars (I can tell you who to look for there)

Most shops are going to get 300 or more for this kind of repair so if you or someone you know can do it you can save a lot of money.

I can tell you how to get at the chips and also everything you will need to do the repair.

If this information has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

If you want the detailed instructions let me know and I will post them here for you.

Looks like 3D Picture

You probly have a convergence cicuit failure. Replacing the convergencr IC's will probly fix it.
I recommend a professional repairman to
do it though. Particularly if it needs further adjustments after the IC's are replaced.

Horizontal lines flicker on jvc av-48wp30

Next time you see it select convergence in the menu, there is a way to adjust or at least see if it is out. This is actually not a real hard set for this repair IF it is your problem. The board that needs to be removed to get at the parts is not large and does not require a lot of time to get out.The set uses two of the STK-392-110 chips for this---at for example Suburban Electronics you can get a pair with shipping for under 20 dollars. In the customer convergence mode what you are looking for is red lines where they do not belong and if red looking to see red will move left/right and up down in a area that looks off.If the red for example will not move in some direction change both chips. If you want help I will attach some photos here of exactly what the board in this model looks like and the chips are easy to see.Confirm first this is your problem.I can tell you exactly how to get the board out and what you will need for the repair. There are "kits" for this but they run over 80 dollars and have a number of parts you will never need or use.If you have a soldering iron and know how to solder the repair should cost you in parts etc under 30 dollars.Take it from me, I have done a few hundred of this model for this problem. Pretty good investment for a set with few other problems, life on the replacement parts is 5-7 years.Let me know if want more information or help.SD TECH 12_13_2012_4_07_35_am.jpg12_13_2012_4_08_15_am.jpg

Convergence problem hit convergence buttom and color is off

Aside from the customer menu which requires the original remote to adjust in there is a hidden tech menu which also requires knowing how to get into it, not real easy.Look first with the original remote to see if it will adjust to a acceptable picture in the main menu.

My AB-48P776 has a cracked screen

I will presume it is a AV and not a AB model. Screen may or may not be available from JVC but if it is will be expensive.Google the model with 'replacement screen" as several sellers have replacements----outer should be clear protective screen and the unit will have 2 more behind it.another option might be EBAY where junked sets are offered for parts---get the entire front frame with all screens?

Need a flyback transformer

This part rarely fails in this set so let me know if sweep transistor is shorted or what?To answer: Contact JVC with the correct model number and try to get the part number---nothing JVC will be cheap but with the actual part number you can Google to see if available.I would also suggest checking someone like Suburban Electronics who sells a lot of these parts---online catalog and or phone.SD TECH

Tv suddenly will not turn on i am getting rythmic popping soung through the speakers?

picturetube has went out, or is going out. try to unplug it for a while ( a few hours or even a day or so) if the picture comes back on thats great but then you know its not out but going out. it will be cheaper to just replace it.

Picture size adjustment

All adjustments of this type are done with the original remote (they will not of course correct a circuit problem) and you will need the full service manual to access the tech menu--not knowing what issue is be careful if you try that--on wrong move and no set.Google the model number with "service manual" to see if it is available.
