Thats caused by the convergence ICs and low ohm resistors. Very common problem with all rear projections. You can get the JVC convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the ICs, Resistors and the CD with repair instructions.

I have a 54inch jvc floor model with no sound and it will show a picture then the picture goes out and power button flashes red, can this problem be fixed

It can be damaged the audio exits by the side where the speaker connects

converge stk's failing replace and check always check the big resisters for ohms replace even if they read off by 1 ohm any deveation here is critical to the performance.

You sure can. Your models factory default is the cable option. Press the menu button on the front of the TV. Scroll to the "Auto Tuner Setup" menu, select the "Air" option, then press OK.

hello my is rico and i work on tvs sometimes. it looks like bad convergance but on this tv sometimes has cold solder on the power supply, on the flyback with cold solder, and pico fuse with 5amp. check your board inside your tv underneath for cold solder on the entire board, if you need more help with your tv feel free to call me at 602-810-7149 i live in mesa az

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.

Oh dear. Unfortunately it will require new oil to be installed with a repair of the lense or maybe replacement. The static convergeance will then need setting up, not to mention contamination on the electronics below the leak (if there is any).
A long and expensive job, not a job that can usually be done in the customers home.

try to adjust your convergence setting in your remote if still does not work replace your convergence ic the one with stk printed its usually 2 to 3 inches with 1 1/2 in height it has many pins and connected to a heat sink.

Well that sounds familiar. Do the other controls work or all of them are dead? Please answer this question so that I can help you troubleshoot the problem.

TV might need to have tubes realined to where you have correct BLK and WHT tracking On menu turn Color Off see if you have a black and white picture if not you need to adjust the R/G/B drives to picture Tubes adjust them as close as you can get to a Blk and wht picture then turn Color back on. These controls will be on the focus/screen control block 3 on top 3 on bottom
each are for adjusting Focus and screen drive to each tube.

This sounds like convergence problem--cheap and easy to fix in model indicated.

Set uses two of the STK-392-110 CHIPS AND PARTS ON EBAY ARE LESS THAN 15 dollars.

Sounds like the TV needs some type of serivice. But just to cover your bases try unplunging it from the power from the wall and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Then plug it back in to the power and try to turn it on using the power button on TV rather then the remote. See if that works. If it doesnt call JVC.

i'm having the same problem. I looked at the power board where the power directly comes in and there was nothing wrong with the power coming off it going to the main power board that goes to everything else on the tv. At first I thought it was a cap. but I'm not so sure it isn't something with the bulbs for the lenses.
