Red lamp/program led flashing rapidly and tv wont come on

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

There is a fly on the mirror. How do I get it off

While you can try to dislodge the fly by tilting the TV slightly -FORWARD- only (not to the sides or backward), or by the use of creative direction of compressed air through various vent grilles, there is indication that this model of television has a chassis intrusion detection, in which case opening any part other than the lamp replacement door will cause the TV to claim you are violating the digital copyright protection system and stop working properly.

HOW DO I REPLACE THE

Hello
To replace lamp in JVC projection TV follow the steps below.
[1]. Order a compatible replacement lamp from JVC. Order a replacement lamp from JVC's Accessory Store or a local authorized parts distributor to ensure that you obtain a compatible replacement lamp. To order a replacement lamp, you must have the lamp type and lamp code of your JVC projection TV, which can be found on the rear of the television.
[2]. Turn off the television and allow the bulb to cool. For safety reasons, turn off and unplug your television before accessing any of its internal components. Wait at least 20 minutes before attempting to replace the lamp so that it has time to cool down. If the back of the television is not warm or hot to the touch, it is safe to begin removing the lamp
[3]. Unscrew and remove the lamp door. The lamp door on JVC projection TVs is located on the rear left of the television and is shaped like a square. Several warnings related to the lamp will be printed on the door. Use a Phillips-head or flathead screwdriver to remove the large screw, then remove the door
[4]. Unscrew and remove the lamp assembly unit. After you have removed the lamp door, you will see the lamp assembly unit. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws. One screw is on the top right corner of the unit and the second screw is on the bottom left corner of the unit. Detach the lamp assembly unit from the compartment by lifting the handle and pulling the unit away from the television
[5]. Install the replacement lamp and secure the lamp door. Hold the replacement lamp assembly unit by the handle and insert it straight into the compartment. Reinsert and tighten the two screws onto the lamp assembly unit with a screwdriver. Place the lamp door back onto the television and tighten the screw to secure it to the television
[6]. Reset the television's lamp timer. Press "Menu" on the television's remote, then scroll to and select "Lamp Timer Reset." Press "OK" to rest the timer. A prompt will appear notifying you that the timer has successfully been reset

Tv wont turn on

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_17_2012_3_16_10_pm.jpg

The colors are dominantly green and red/pink .

Hello,

Hopefully this is a simple Picture Adjustment problem.

  1. Press the menu button on your remote.
  2. Go to "Picture Adjustment"
  3. Change the "Tint" and "Color" options.
  4. You also change the "Color Temperature"
You can also find the manual here (page 39 of 104): http://www.fixya.com/support/p186344-jvc_hd_61z786_61_in_rear_projection/manual-17263

If this does not make any difference, you may want to check the video connections to your TV. It could plugged in wrong or it may be loose.

I hope this helps

How do you connect a PC to a JVC TV to display

If your JVC has a VGA input, setting the PC to the correct resolution will work, if not you will require a "TV out" board for the PC. there is not one as far as I am aware for laptops, normal Video output through phone sockets will then be available.

New lamp installed color is

This does not look like an lamp problem to me but rather a problem with the LCoS problem or the optics(prism). We can try adjusting a few settings though to see if it resolves the problem. But we are gonna need the service manual(which I do not have for this set). You can obtain it from here for 5$
http://www.free-service-manuals.com/Television/JVC_Televisions/JVC_HD-61Z786_Service_Manual_L84499/
Once you get it upload a copy to mediafire.com and get me the link so that I can tell you what service mode options to adjust.
