youve most likely got an issue with the CRTs one most likely which cuts out and back in randomly. Try removing the rear cover and look in at the three crts while its doing that and see if you can see one or more keep turning off and on.

Don't even try to clean the inside of the screen on the mode indicated here, av 56p575.If the picture is darker remove rear cover and reach up with a lens cloth and clean the three large lens---they are your light source.What is your reason to want to clean the inside of the screen, I am able to offer advice there.

No reset but there is a setting for speakers ON or OFF--bet they are now set to off.

go into menu and look for setting for speakers ON or OFF---speakers likely are now turned to OFF.

The CC is activated or disabled only from the remote - there is no option for that in the menu, in there you can only select what kind of CC you want to use (as you have yourself discovered).
The CC button is - on the original remote - right below the power button: press it once to disable CC.

This is a CRT projection monitor - the image is generated by 3 separate tubes. If the green colour is missing then either the tube has failed or the video circuit to the green tube is faulty.
You must find out which by measuring the voltages on the green tube - if they are ok then you will need a new tube. You could find one here - not at this moment, only a blue one is available now

Just try this method.

[1]. Turn on the TV. If the TV doesn't turn on, if you feel a wetness around the crack in the screen or if the picture isn't coming in properly, do not attempt to fix the TV yourself. Take it to a professional.

[2]. Turn the screen off and unplug the TV if the TV appears to be in working order except for the crack.

[3]. Apply a thick coat of petroleum jelly to the crack. Rub it in slowly and thoroughly with a clean eyeglasses cloth.

[4]. Reapply the petroleum jelly and rub off again, if necessary.

Easiest way - Using your remote, go to "new set up" and maneuver to color balance (convergence) and make your adjustments there, I say - new set up, because manufacturers rec. using new set up everytime you move the unit.

It is not hard to replace. As long as you are technically able to carry out such activity. You can go ahead and replace it. It is as easy as replacing a bad capacitor.

did you ever find out? My stripping fell and is hanging down the middle of the screen, need to figure out how to take front off.

It can be repaired but it won't be cheap if that person did damage. Ask the manufacturer for an authorized servicer.
