No sound on JVC AV-48P575 48 inch rear projection TV

Try going into the menu and find something called, "center channel input." If it is on, the sound will not work. Turn it off, and the sound should be restored.

TV turns off or gose black then come back on

This is typical with many sets when it goes old as there is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling , tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs.

Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points. Please remove the SMPS and check as it can have poor solder joints. Look for bloated capacitor in the circuit. If seen replace and check.

Lightning hit my house my tv turned off and has

Many years ago I was called to a house in the countryside because their TV wouldn't work. I arrived to discover that the TV looked perfect on the outside but when I removed the rear cover, there was no copper track left anywhere, just components on a bare pcboard. The aerial lead was without a copper conductor and the mains lead thee same. That was a direct hit.
I was called to another set with the condition of dead set. There was no external or indeed internal damage but the electrical surge has damaged the power supply. I repaired the power supply to find a line timebase fault. I repaired that to find a problem with the tuner, I wrote the set off to insurance as a total loss.
One can never tell what or indeed where the damage is with this sort of problem.
Hope that helps and stops you getting a large bill for a repair that may fail again.

Some channels have sound, others don't. Picture

Possible that the sound settings are in different modes on the TV. So check to set after selecting the channels to the required sound frequency of your service provider.
If not you will need to reset once again the memory and do a search scan IN the AUTO mode for resetting the TV channels.

If you hear a buzzing, humming or rapid clicking noises this could be a problem with your ballast.Might be a good idea though to pull out your lamp just ensure its not damaged. You can find these at discount-merchant.com

HDMI is not picking up a signal and the screen is

Be sure to check the connection to the play and TV. This does not happen often since HDMI is a all digital connection so the picture does not degrade as it would with Analog.

Try to switch to a differant play to see if it is the TV or the player. Also try to switch connection to a componet or comosite output to see if the HDMI is or is not the issue.

Send me a comment so I can help you further and to let me know how it goes.

Hope I helped!
