Remote doesn't control on/off,volume or

Remote won't workThe most common reasons the remote won't work is that the batteries are dead or it hasn't been programmed properly. It's often easy to fix. Here are the steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.Make sure you have a clear path between the remote and the infrared eye on your equipment. Clear any dust or debris that may be covering the eye.Try unlocking the battery-saving mode. When a button is pressed for longer than three minutes, the remote goes into battery-saving mode. Press the SAT mode button at the top to unlock it. Your remote should work properly.Check the batteries. When you press a mode button, does it light up? If not, you may be out of juice. Check to make sure they are in the right way, with the metal ends making good connections with the metal in the remote. If they're in correctly and you still don't get power, try replacing them. They may be dead.Learn about batteriesCheck to make sure the remote is programmed properly, which basically means you reprogram it to work with your receiver, TV and any other components. Start with the receiver and work your way through programming each component that isn't working. We tell you how to program remotes in our guide to remotes.Learn about remotesStill no go? Here are the steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.Make sure you are in SAT mode. The receiver will only change channels when the remote is in the correct mode.Look for a timer. If you have a timer set, the receiver won't let you change channels. This ensures you don't miss recording a program with an external device. If a timer is set and you want to watch another channel, simply turn off the receiver and turn it back on.Learn about timersMake sure the problem is with the remote and not the receiver. Try the buttons on the front of the receiver. Try to change channels. If your model doesn't have channel buttons, try to turn the machine off. If you can't change channels or power off, the problem is with the receiver. Try unplugging it for two minutes and plugging it in again. If you can change the channels or power off, the problem is with the remote. Press any mode button on the remote. It should light up. If not, you probably have low batteries. They should be replaced.Try unlocking the battery-saving mode. Channel display while cable box is active

Mr. York, you give very little information, but from what I gather. All Tv's have the ability DISPLAY the channel all the time or for a short time after changing. GOTO menu or display button on the Remote control [r\c] and you should see that the time display can be change.

Weigh yourself on a scale. If you can, pick up the TV and step on the scale again. The difference between the two readings is the weight of your TV.

Thin Bright line is all I got on the tube

Sounds like a capacitor and/or the Vertical amp Ic has gone out in the set. Maybe a bad solder joint. Depending on where you live, the cost of repair could be between $100.00 to $150.00. Kill it or what? What would Braveheart do. FFFRRRREEEEEEEDDDOOOMMMM

My JVC TV has an onscreen remote that doesn't let us use the actual remote what do I do to gat it out?

Hello! If your JVC TV is displaying an onscreen remote and you're unable to use the actual remote, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
  1. Power cycle the TV: Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often reset any temporary issues and restore the functionality of the actual remote.
  2. Replace the remote batteries: Check the batteries in your remote control and make sure they have enough power. If the batteries are low, replace them with fresh ones and try using the remote again.
  3. Check the remote control sensor: Ensure that there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's remote control sensor. Clean the remote control sensor on the TV with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dust or debris that may be interfering with the signal reception.
  4. Reset the TV to factory settings: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the TV to its factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any personalized settings and restore the TV to its original configuration. Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your specific JVC TV model.
  5. Contact JVC customer support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to JVC customer support for further assistance. They will have access to more specific troubleshooting steps and can guide you through the process of resolving the issue with the onscreen remote.
Keep in mind that the exact steps and options may vary depending on your specific JVC TV model. Refer to the user manual or contact JVC customer support for model-specific guidance.

  1. Reset the receiver: To reset your JVC RX-5060 receiver to its factory default settings, switch off the receiver and unplug it from the power outlet. Press and hold the "Power" button on the front panel for approximately 5 seconds. Then, while still holding the "Power" button, plug the receiver back into the power outlet2.
  2. Check the fuse: If your receiver still doesn't turn on, check if there's a blown fuse in the receiver. If so, replace it with a new one of the same rating3.
