I am having same issue. Took the remote apart to see if there was a contact issue, and the tree started playing music. Music was loud and crisp, lights are all lit and in sync. Problem is, I have no control over it, and as soon as I sync the remote back up, I am back to square one, the music won't play. I can control the colors with the remote, but can't play one song or loop music, no matter how many times I correctly sync. Any help is appreciated. ( I have looked into getting a new remote, but no one sells them anymore, out of stock everywhere I have found them.)
"I can feel a plastic gear moving in the groin area". Hey, behave, he is 23 years old, lol :>D
The best thing to do it to take it to a local model shop. They will know someone that fixes them, and in fact that is the advice from the makers. They disown them after 12 months and just call them 'discontinued'.

Question edited for clarity. It looks like it is made by Gemmy.
Question moved to Gemmy category.
Is it this one?
The problem with Gemmy is that 12 months after a release they cease all support as though it never existed!
Please don't just replace items, "because you might as well and it MIGHT fix it".
There is very little practical help, but a few observations and guesses. Does it really have a battery pack? If so they will likely be rechargeable batteries, or you can add a set of Lithium Energizer. However in my experience they are not battery powered but have a mains adapter and a lead. I can guess the lighting, would guess there is a bulb and a motorised colour wheel and a bunch of fibre optic cables going from the base up the pole to the sign. If the 'bulb' is an LED Module, that will be harder, but an incandescent bulb can be tested with a multimeter.
Or take it to a local model shop, they will know a Gemmy repairer.

Take it to a local model shop. They will know someone that fixes them. The company assumes no responsibility after the products are launched and don't do repairs.
Hi, unfortunately Gemmy Industries does not sell replacement motors for their inflatable products. However, motors can be purchased at www.holidayinflatablestore.com. Although Gemmy cannot provide any support to assist you in the process, Gemmy understand that collectors of the product have been able to take care of their replacement needs by purchasing older, inexpensive units from E-bay and then transferring the parts to the newer model.
Without more information about the specific model of Gemmy Santa you have, it is difficult to provide a definitive answer on the type of replacement microphone that can be used. However, in general, most microphones used in consumer electronics devices are electret condenser microphones, which are relatively common and widely available. These types of microphones are often used in small devices such as smartphones, tablets, and handheld microphones. You can look for a replacement electret condenser microphone with the same or similar specifications (e.g. sensitivity, frequency response, etc.) as the original microphone that came with your Gemmy Santa.
