There were no burnt parts but there was 13 extra volts getting by the
transformer in a loop causing it to stay on. It was still powering the
picture but not the sound. Since I couldn't find the bad part I was
just going to replace the whole board for $189., but I decided to get rid of it. I sold it for parts and bought some computer memory so I could watch tv on my computer. :P It was a good compromise, I think.
TV wont power on, clicking noise and flashing standby led
Sounds pretty bad to me, I had a computer monitor that did a similar thing when plugged in after blowing, it's not a good thing. I didn't even bother to mess with it. You may have to replace the whole power board or at least have a whole handful of pieces to re-solder. It most likely isn't worth it unless your other tv's are under 30" and you don't have a lot of money ;)

Just bought a 32" LCD HDTV from a guy, it worked great for a week
From another post made on here, it sounds like the power supply in the TV got fried. Most likely hard to fix if not impossible. I would probably junk it, fixing power supplies are hard I know I've tried to fix pc ones and it only worked once for a little bit lol so unless you are technically inclined and handy with a soldering iron or know a buddy who is, you probably shouldn't bother.

Audio ok, but Video goes from color to black.
the tv turns on fine,
but after 5 - 30 min or so, "sometimes MORE " the picture all of a sudden go's black. Sound is ok
it is 100% loose contact problem.
1 please check for any connector or print for loose.
2 in signal processor ic there might be loose.
remember there is no component failure.
Power problems
Something wrong with the power switch? Does it stop if you press any buttons on the TV (including the power button)?
Power button
No, you cannot disconnect the power switch. A defective power switch will not make the set turn on and off by itself, because the power relay is actually controlled by the microprocessor. The microprocessor in your set is trying to start the set but immediately detects a fault somewhere and shuts the set back off. This can be a difficult problem to solve and the set should be serviced by a qualified tech.
JVC AV-32730 36" picture problem..
From what you describe, a solder joint has probably cracked loose in a power supply or deflection circuit, which is quite common. Since you do sometimes see a good picture, all of your major components are fine. Repairing cracked solder joints is a very easy procedure and definately worth fixing on a 32 inch TV. The first 2 digits of the model number indicate the size of the TV.
DEAD
there will be a fuse inside, check it. aside from that it could be anything, lightning is unpredictable
