This sounds like a battery issue. The battery sounds dead, try replacing the battery with a known good battery. If this doesn't solve your problem, plug it into your computer and try to access it's data, if you can access the data then the device is fine, the power is not.

Ok if its showing the files that are on the unit then we know that the unit is not dead. Hmm sounds like an lcd problem like maybe it got dropped or banged and damaged the lcd display or a cable connecting the display could have come loose. Good luck

1. It's more likely the problem is a broken power cord or dirty power switch. If you've been in the habit of yanking the cord to unplug the unit instead of pulling directly on the plug, or somebody tripped over the cord, the power cord is probably broken right at the plug. 2. Changing a blown fuse without finding and repairing the fault that blew the fuse will only give you another blown fuse. It's not like the old farmhouse with too many things plugged in on the same fuse... A blown fuse in audio equipment is usually the result of a shorted speaker driver transistor. The transistors come in pairs; if one is bad the other has been overloaded and should be replaced also. That's a job for an electronic technician.
