LG DU-42PY10 42 in. Plasma HDTV Questions & Answers
I have a LG 32LH20d
What are you watching on the AV input? Cable or satellite box? Most likely its a video setting like resolution. I would either hook up cable box to different tv and adjust setting back to what will work with the tv so you can adjust from there. If you have any other questions let me know.
Thank you,

INTERMITTENT BLUE HORIZONTAL STREAKS IN PICTURE.
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls
picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes
bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal
stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to
open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these
boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you
have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these
units contain high voltages even when switched off.
Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
DU-42PY10X Has sound but no picture.
When a plasma has no picture I have found that 9 times out of 10 the ysus bd or the zsus bd has failed and sometimes both have failed at the same time. When you pull the back of the unit, you will find the the large pcb on the left as you look at the back is the ysus bd. and the bd. on the right side of unit is the zsus (it is about 1/2 size of the ysus bd. Check the fuses on both bds. and if one is open see if replacing will help. If it blows again the bd. that the fuse is on is most likely defective. The VS and VA voltages are listed on a tag on the inside of the plasma panel and those voltages should be checked. If either of those voltages is very low or missing, first disconnect the plug from the power supply to the ysus bd and check the voltages again. If the voltage comes up then the ysus is defective. If the v does not come up replace that plug and pull the plug from the power supply to the zsus bd and check again. If the v then comes up the zsus is most likely the cause. Remember to disconnect the AC to the unit b4 each step. Of course there are other possibilities and I alway reccomend that if your are not proficient with handling meters and AC and DC voltages then please contact a qualified service tech.

There is something that is wrong with your LCD panel. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD panel which is very expensive ($500+) and time consuming (need to take whole TV apart).
LG HDTV...Have sound, but no picture!
I do not think you need a Y-Sus, you need a Control PCB.
6871QCH060Q.
The Y-Sustain part number you have given does not match the one in your TV, close, but nope.
6871QYH030C is the Y-Sustain number.
Your set needs a control PCB. It is a common Fault.
If you are in the USA, eBay, www.shopjimmy.com

I have the same problem but mine is 3 years old? Im taking mine to the shop on tuesday to have it looked at .... this sucks!!!
Left Half of the screen is not working
you have a problem with your "buffer" boards inside your tv. there are several different ( 4 or 5
) ones inside. it may also be your controller board, only a tv service technician will be able to answer this question after a look see
Red/pink shades in dark areas happens only 6ins down from top
Sounds like you have a cap that leaky or a ic thats getting hot,
if you want to try and fix it yourself get a can of freeze it
http://www.chemtronics.com/products/product.asp?id=78
and when the problem appears spray the can on each (ic or cap) part till the problem goes away.
I have a LG dvd
player 5083 inserted the disc the correct way into the draw but the machine does not play the disc a very slight humming noise is heard then it spits the drawer back out
Clean the Lens: Use a DVD cleaning disc to clean the lens. If the problem persists, consider professional cleaning.
Test Other Discs: Try playing different DVDs to see if the issue occurs consistently. If it's specific to one disc, that disc might be the problem.
Check for Updates: Make sure your DVD player's firmware is updated. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for firmware updates.
Try a Different TV: Connect your DVD player to a different TV to see if the noise disappears. If it does, the issue might be with your TV.
The hum is simply the player trying to read the disc. It can't so, it spits it out.
Remember that prolonged use of a malfunctioning DVD player could potentially cause damage. If the problem persists, consider seeking professional repair or replacement
