LG 42PX5D Base Wanted
There is a great selection of LCD/Plasma stands from Ebay and through Amazon.
Also, you can get some good deals from Ebuyer.
Just Google these into your Web browser & they will come up.
- Last month, for example, somebody on Ebay was selling a new three-tier stand for only £50!
It will not turn on..not even on stand by mode
First, check that there is power to the socket you have plugged it into. (Try any other electrical device like a PC. laptop, lamp, etc. in the same power socket).
Once you are sure that there is power from that socket, check the fuse in the TV plug top.
It could simply be the fuse has blown!
My plasma LG TV has a black display box in the top
There should be a button on your TV remote that will be called "Display" or "P in P".
The display button usually displays which input you have selected, such as: SAT for Satellite; AV1, AV2, AV3 or AV4 - depending on how many inputs your TV has, to plug in devices like a VCR or DVD recorder/player.
Otherwise, if you have a more sophisticated TV, it could be that you have accidentally pressed the "P in P" button, that selects the Picture in Picture mode. If you have done this, your TV will display the main picture of the input you have selected, plus another input, (such as SAT or AV1 or AV2 etc. as I've mentioned above). If the AV1 or AV2, etc. input is not active (not switched on) then that input will only display a blank (black) picture in the top left corner of the screen.
Hope this helps...
LG42pq300 there is a bussing comming from my tv
Is the set operating normally otherwise?
Does the sound appear to be comming from the speakers or the rear of the unit?
If this is a plasma TV then it is not unusual for the panels to emmit a buzzing sound and if the TV is working normal one should assume this is normal for the set to do this and leave it.
Sometimes a shadow appears when
This problem happens to plasma TVs usually due to the Z SUS part, Z SUS board and Z Drive Board, malfunctioning. The Z SUS is responsible in resetting the screen for the next picture to appear. If it malfunctions, the image of the previous picture freezes and appears as shadow. Usually, the last image on the screen when you turned the unit off appears when you turn it back on before the actual picture appears.
The usual fix for this is alignment. That is, adjusting the voltages that powers the boards to an appropriate value that is indicated on the back of the panel. You may need the service of a qualified technician to perform the alignment.
I hope you find this information helpful.
LG 42PX4MVH PLASMA TV - Sound but no picture.
You need the ysus board. This is a very common problem with LG's. If it is coming up with the fuse removed you are essentially removing the short from the power supply so that it can come up and deliver other voltages for sound and all. Check out encompassparts.com if you are going to try to repair this yourself. Thanks
Horizontal thin coloured lines on screen, whilst
Check the inteference,by other electronic devices such as radio and television and keep electronic ,magnetic devices away from the tv.
Does your aerial need more boost?
If you have a digital aerial inside your roof this can affect the signal.
I have a LG 50PX1D-UC plasma TV with a black vertical line
You could have a Driver Board that has a loose connection or a Ribbon Cable that has a intermittent connection to the Plasma Panel, or a defective Plasma Panel. Either one could cause the problem and I would recommend only a Qualified Service Person to check it out.
Here is LG's Customer Service Number. 1800-243-0000. They could direct you to a Local Service Facility.
I hope this helps,

There sonud coming from the plasma but there is no
First make sure to hit the menu button on the TV's remote and if nothing is there then friend while the set is on turn a bright flashlight on and shine at angle into the set push the TV menu button if you can see a image then your back light is not working.
You can also check the transformers they are close to were the wires plug into the panel, make sure all transformers read the same amount of resistance if not you have found a bad one. Now you will have to check to see if the power supply is sending 24v to the backlight, if not the power supply is bad. Cost backlights around 150.00 and power supplies around 100.00. Well this should help you friend.
My screen is broke
HELLO
To have a new screen installed in your plasma TV will cost you a darn sight more than getting a new set.
Sorry that's how it is with LCD and Plasma (:-(
I am looking for either
It is Digital Cable Ready (CableCARD)
I'd stay away from them personally because of the following reasons:
1. No video on demand (VOD) or electronic program guide (EPG)
2. No PVR function - would require a PVR to record
3. CableCARD units cost more
4. CableCARD may not get the latest channel releases
5. Customer support is lacking as not many people are using CableCard
I have had my tv in twice for service already and
Yes and many have been recalled for a replacemjent of the main boards ( made in India or china cant recall which) But all localised to the 42" There are a few places on the webs in forums that speak of thois continuing problem. TV will not power on.
The clicking you hear is a relay that connects,
then disconnects the AC to prevent fire or further damage.
If it just fails to turn on, the main power supply is probably at
fault and without some technical background and a couple of test instruments,
you will not be able to do the repair yourself.
What
you can do though is; unplug the set, let it stand overnight or at least
several hours, remove the back panel and look for a separate board with mostly
larger components on it; it will have a ferrite core transformer on it and
several larger capacitors which are cylindrical and mounted vertically to the
board.
Before touching anything inside, especially on that board,
allow several hours to be safe since the larger capacitors can hold a painful
voltage charge for some hours.
There are likely two power supplies, a main (larger) and possibly a separate supply for the plasma display.
Without inspecting your set it is difficult to determine which may have failed since the high voltage supply may use an output from the main supply.
If you see signs of overheating such as discoloration of
the board material, it may not be repairable but if you can find a part number
on the board, you might be able to buy the power supply and install it
yourself.
If there are no signs of heat damage to the board, there
may be companies offering to repair it as a subassembly instead of repairing
the whole set which could be much more expensive.
If
you choose to replace it or have it done, the power supply still may not be at fault since most
are capable of switching on and off if a downstream problem is causing an
overload.
Not easy to diagnose without having made a few measurements first.
