Connect the Wii and the DVD player to different ports on the TV to and any other device to the port in which the Wii and the DVD player were connected to check if the issue is with the port.
If other devices also display in black and white after connecting them to the port to which the Wii and the DVD player were originally connected then the ports require servicing.
You can't upgrade a panel tv, plasma or LCD.You may have had a plasma panel failure,I sell LG tv's and for the panel to go bad is rare but I have had it happen approx.6 times in the past 5 years.I highly recommend contacting LG"s customer service they will stand behind the panel and get you going again.Good luck!
Hi Thanks
for using FixYa. If the TV isn't turning itself on then the fault
protection circuit has detected a fault and has turned down the TV. You'll need
to check various things to find an answer which part is bad. Please
check these--- 1. Check
for signal cables at the back and also try unplugging the TV for 8-10 hours to
reset it. 2. Swollen
/bulged capacitors on the power supply board-- This happens due to overheating
of capacitors. 3. If the
capacitors are fine then you'll need to check for connectors on all the boards
and also the fans if they are working fine.
4. Also check for any swollen capacitors on the X-sus board of your TV. Note--
Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour
(this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before
you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages
even when it is in OFF condition. Try to
reset the TV by unplugging it for 8-10 hours. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance. Thanks Rylee

Are you using 2 monitors or just one? What kind of cable you are using to connect the TV to your PC? Your desktop is probably set to a very high resolution which is not supported by your TV. Change your video card settings to 800 X 600. You may still have to activate the TV.
With seeing the picture it will be hard fro me to tell what..I am going to guess according to the information you've provided. It could a buffer or a signal board(s). This TV is only 4 Months old I would call LG and file a warranty claim. LG (800) 243-0000
There is such thing as power supply unit for LG 50PC3D Plasma TV with panel model PDP50X30010.Part number is 68709M0046A. LG part number is 6709900020A.
Check the connections on the buffer boards to the panel. Likely connection or bad buffer board.Change buffer board . If this does not fix then Panel is bad. Try C board connections on bottom. Be sure to disconnect power supply from sustain boards before messing with these connectors to avoid burning the flex cables.
your set is going into a shutdown you have a problem in one of the circuits and it will have to be diagnosed there is not a easy way to tell you which board needs to be replaced id suggest it best to get a local person to assist you with this repair
Most likely a fault on your Y-Sustain board & possibly the buffer board (one of the drive IC's may have blown). These boards can cost up to £100. The Y-Sustain board is not too difficult to replace but the buffer board can be tricky to reconnect the flat ribbon connectors. There is some dismantling of other parts to gain access to remove the sustain board.
This is called diffusion and a lot a plasma tvs get this. It usually is a to high/to low voltage setting inside the unit and needs to be adjusted. This should be done at a repair shop because the voltage needs to be watched with a volt meter as adjustments are made. Different makers have different settings and names on thier voltages. These are very high and dangerous voltages and if the wrong ones are turned the unit can be badly damaged. What may be an easy fix can be turned into having to buy a new set.
Take it to a local retail store that sells LG and see if it works there on a set . If it does then you have an issue with the set. If it doesn't then replace the remote, if under warranty, call LG for a replacement remote.
Don't try to order that product, even if it is something as simple as
the power cord without checking with LG's service department (or the
local one near you they recommend). Some parts are interchangable
but remember if you are not in the US, or have "strange international
voltages" and connectors they are required by local laws to only allow
an approved dealship or repair facility to handle your request.
You may have problem with the power supply. The only thing in a TV that can make loud pops is high voltage. There are seriously HIGH VOLTAGES in a plasma TV.
I WOULD NOT OPERATE this TV until it has been checked by a qualified TV technician. The pop means something may be shorting. If it shorts to the frame, you can be seriously injured.
