You can do the repair yourself, you need about 3 hours to take apart and re-install. Keep a note of every screw, there are alot of them.

The board may be stuck on by some di-electric grease so pry it off carefully making certain all screws are off, check behind wires etc...

Replace with 6781QCH038C not the 060Q it will not work with LG's but will work for Vizio's

6781QCH038C is the correct replacement.

There is another replacement part for LG's ending with 060Q. Electronia-USA.com stated it may not work with LG's but does work for Vizio's

I had the same problem on my DU-42px12xc. Red, green , and blue lines vertically on the right side of the screen. I found a loose solder connection under the inputs board on a resistor. After re-soldering, everything was crystal. I'm happy I grabbed this tv before my work threw it out. Be very careful when soldering SMT components. Use proper equipment. I had to troubleshoot while the tv was on, so I was extremely careful not to short anything out.

I pulled the inputs board out to gain access to the "Y-axis" pins.

I started pushing on the resistors 'till the color lines started working correctly, and re-soldered the four resistors.

You may find a better price elsewhere on the internet or locally.

Your set is servicable with proper troubleshooting. Normaly, the defective boards are swapped out to service these sets. This fault can be in the address decoder, or the display drive boards. It is also possible that the failure is in the display assembly itself.

My preference would be to give the set to the authorised service rep to have an estimate to deterine if the set is worth to service.

This can be on the matrix drive board, or the display assembly itself. It is possible to also have a defect in the address decoding area that will cause this.

The procedure is to swap out the suspect boards to determine where the fault is, leave the working boards in the set, and then follow up any necessary calibrations that are necessary.

Sounds like your Y-Z sustain boards. You will need to get pro help and you should be looking at a repair or 400.00

LG Plasmas and all plasmas have problems with the sustain boards. You can replace them with just a screw driver to remove back and boards.  Try tritronicsinc.com and andrewselectronics.com and search for Y and Z Sus boards.
They are not cheap and you may want to call a qualified servicer or deal with return cost if they don't work

This may be in part with the X - Y addressing to the screen. The fault can be a bad ribbon cable, or a failed drive board. On rare occasions it can be the screen itself.

Proper troubleshooting would be required to actualy determine the exact fault.

The cost will not be cheap for this type of fault. For some of these types of faults, the cost can be more than a few hundred dollars to start.

Without troubleshooting the set, I will take a sort of guess at what I think the fault may be.

This may be a fault in the video processor, most likely dealing with the RAM, or part of clocking drive for the modulation decoding that is driving the display panel.

The fix is board replacement.

Lucky54 find the solution for my vertical blue line. I have changed my ctrl_lvds board #6871QCH038A localised in rear of board tuner. I paie $188CDN and my plasma work verry well. If you want repair it, it's possible by followind instruction by BLUSVER give on this site.
