Sounds like a problem with the remote where a function button on the remote is being pressed for a function which is not on the TV. Could be a fault in the remote or moisture or some other foreign body which has gotten into the remote. Try removing the batteries from the remote or covering the infra red receiver sensor on the TV. Hopefully this will stop it. It may alternatively be some other infra red source which is confusing the TV. The TV generally won't have unavailable functions in its own menu so it's most likely the remote. Hope this helps

There's no reason. The two things are not connected. Make sure you have the TV on the digital tuner, and not the analogue one.

No way to do that unless you can figure out a way to remove the part. The contacts inside that plug determine where the sound goes. No way to turn it off unless you remove the broken part. If you feel confident enough, remove the back of the TV and remove the broken piece from the jack.

Sounds like you have a backlight problem. To verify this, turn on the set, dim the lights in the room, and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you see a faint picture you have a backlight fault. It could be as simple as a bad capacitor in the power supply, or a faulty inverter board, or in rare cases a bad backlamp.

I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo.

Hi; your TV has burn screen or traces.it comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen. you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image. you can use a computer to make DVD picture slide first go to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg. second burn it into nero or other dvd burner third play it to your DVD player connected to you LCD TV.it has to be played in full screen let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts. hope this help...............

Is it repairable, well, this question can be answered only after opening the back cover and evaluating the damage. From you side, please connect the TV to a different power outlet where other similar devices are working and see. Then try changing the input device to something that sure works. If it does not work even then, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.

Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. If problem persists, it can be due to dry/leaky capacitors and/or dry solder on PCB. Anyhow, this might then require attention by a qualified service technician.

Every brand has several different codes for a single brand as different codes were designed for a brand that uses several different codes.The Comcast remote if working only has about 50 possible codes built into it----it may just NOT have the one you need.

Code 0011 worked on my LG 42in LCD.Thanks to Priya darshan for the codes.BTW, code 0001 only partially worked ("Mute" did not work).I phoned Tivo help desk (I am in New Zealand) and they confirmed that LG is still not listed as one of the brands of TV from the list of choices. Simply choose any of the TV's listed and start entering the 4 digit codes on this site (or others found via Google) - one will work.

Bad Capacitors in the Power Supply Take to a Good Technician

If the unit has good sound but without picture(black screen), this is an indication that the backlight is not working. Most of this symptoms is caused by faulty either the power supply board or the inverter board.
To isolate the fault between the two board, you must check the output voltage(24VDC) of the power supply board feeding the inverter board. If the 24VDC is present, then this is an indication that the power supply board is working fine and the inverter board is the issue.

Let me know the exact model no. of your unit to check the board online.
