Dell Studio 1555 laptop Questions & Answers
I know how to use system restore, but if fails.
if you like the laptop soo much if you want you go to e-bay and look for the same laptop that would use YOUR RECOVERY CD.
the laptop don't have to be perfect you can use the one you have for parts, one of the main thing is you'll have your hard drive and memory card. [REMINDER] make sure if you decide to do the project to have a mini set of screw drivers and a small magnet to keep screws together and a work place.
good luck.
My pc running very slow, when i start window 7 it
1)Clean the Temp folder - C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
2)Delete unused user profiles
3)Uninstall unused programsfrom Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features
4)Run CCleaner - http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/(This should clean up some of those extra caches, temporary files, log files, and other things strewn about your system)
5)Run Anti-Virus Scan
6)You might also want to take a look at your start-up items in msconfigand uncheck options you don't need. This'll decrease your computer's boot time significantly, not to mention free up a few resources
7)Remove programs in Start-up Folder (Start, All Programs, Startup)
Pink vertical line on the screen

Forgot administrator password
You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :-

Screen not on and alrm sound
Is it a constant alarm? If so you might have a memory problem.Remove the Power Cord, Remove the screw and the cover that houses the memory and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting. If it is like a 3 alarm or beeps interval, then you might have a video card problem.
Screen do not on
Does the screen show anything at all during boot-up (BIOS screen, startup info?) If so, try connecting an external monitor after startup and see if the issues persist when setting the video output to the external monitor. If that doesn't work try booting in safe mode to last known configuration that worked (usually done by hitting F2, F5, or F8 shortly after powering on.
C000021a
This error occurs when a user-mode subsystem, such as WinLogon or the
Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), has been fatally compromised
and security can no longer be guaranteed. In response, the operating
system switches to kernel mode. Microsoft Windows
cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, this is one of the few
cases where the failure of a user-mode service can shut down the
system.
Mismatched system files can also cause this error. This can occur if
you have restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs
might skip restoring system files that they determine are in use.
Resolution
If the error occurs during system startup, restart your computer, and
press F8 at the character-based menu that displays the operating system
choices. At the resulting WindowsAdvanced Options menu, choose the
Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time.
Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder
C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all
dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your Skydrive [1] and
post a link here, so that I can look at the dumps with the debugger
and to to see the cause of the crash.
