How do I remowe wrightprotection on maxell usb drive

Assuming you have Windows 7 - click on start > right click on Computer > manage > Disk Managment on the left > select the usb drive from the menu at the bottom > right click and format, Name it whatever you want. If you want to copy files over 4gb then select NTFS if not then stick with FAT32. Leave allocation unit size as it is. Make sure there is a tick next to Perform a quick format (unless it fails then untick it) then format. Please note that these steps will completely wipe your usb stick of any content it currently has.

I have a 8gb maxwell

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use asoftech data recovery program to recover your files.http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

w7 First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps: Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK". Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically. for xp or earlier Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X you will need to update/reinstall drivers right click to reinstall drivers if you can see your usb drive but its not working ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts Click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive could be E: or something right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure you have all 3 boxes ticked full control changes and read in windows 7 Click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive then you restore it to its default status Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies restore defaults In XP Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7 You might have to alternate doing this repeatedly until the problem is resolved Click start control panel scroll to folder options view place a tick in show hidden files folders and drives this may vary depending on your operating system. A few important bits of information about using faults and fixes on usb drives

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts click start control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in one box then select check now start or you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box (I have found better results ticking the first box then reurn and tick the second box) you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive also you might need to do this

How to use

click start click on computer to open you should see your drives C: and your other drives cd dvd and your usb drive E: or F: from there you select the files right click on the file/s right click copy navigate back to the drive right click select paste or hold the mouse cursor the file/s drag them to usb drive then drop them
example on how to safe data/files to a usb drive: click start all programs accessories open windows explorer navigate to your data right click on the data select copy navigate back to the usb drive right click select paste or select the data hold the mouse cursor then drag the data to your usb drive then drop it in or if you are downloading data from the internet once it starts downloading windows will ask whether you want to run or save it a browse option will open you can save it into a folder in my documents or another device or a usb deviceif you need more help with this post a reply hope this helps you

You will have to be the computer administrator to change any values on any hard drive

click start control panel user accounts you should see a box with the administrator and the guest account if you have made one click on the administrator this may vary depending on which operating system you have

I have lost the instruction to the memory stick

im not sure what you wat to do or are referring to if you are try to remove the password download dr freeware i have never used or had to use it it reads like it can remove passwords from any usb drives and if you are trying to use it but dont the basics

try using the diskpart application which is in windows

which should then provide you with something like this DISKPART> list disk

your pen sticks size should reflect the actual size of penstick to help you identify it, in this case above the 4 GB one so its disk 1 ensure you do you may delete the hdd if not careful
then type select disk 1 then clean then creat partition primary then select partition 1 then format

When i plug my pen drive in it shows up as 2 locks

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

Please download f-secure bootable disk and clean at the time booting.
How will you confirm?
Follow the steep. Press win key +R >type gpedit .msc and soon an windows will open.
Press win key +R>ms config and soon an windows will open.
Press win key + R REGEDIT an windows will open soon.
Go to tools option >folder option >view>check on show hidden file

Check off hide protected operating system file
Check off hide extension known type file.
BUT still there are no hidden file in drive C:
Think your computer has affected by serious virus.
start>program>accessories>system tools >system restore >set earlier date. If you have the strong

virus you can not do that.
