Polaroid FLM-2011 Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My Polaroid FLM-2011 won't turn on. How can I know if it's the remote or the TV?
Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.

Polaroid flm-2011 no power
Going to have to use a volt meter and follow the voltage inside the set.Fairly straight path---AC comes into set past the fuse--at some point if it vanishes before the voltage is rectified (changed from AC to DC) something is open---a resistor or two should be there and may be opened. After it is changed to DC there are a number of other protection and blocking parts. The change from AC to DC usually involves a bridge rectifier. These are fairly basic tests but if you cannot do them time for a technician or a shop to look at the unit. There are a lot of fail safe's in place to protect a set from this type of damage but they are parts designed to destroy themselves in the process.

When you press the power button the red light
It sounds like you need a new power supply, You and find one on amazon around $14 too $18 dollars maybe less, if that not your issue then it's going to be a fuse but since you can see the light it should be the power supply.

Tv will not come back on after the power went out.
I have not repaired this particular model. But,let me say this first. When you are describing, power out , are you referring to the TV or an actual power outing in the home? None the less the biggest problem with the polaroid flat TVs are the filter capacitors. I have repaired many versions of these and that seems to be possible here. I found the most capacitors replace were in the actual signal board. This is the board with the RCA connections and RF (cable TV connection) connector. I believe I replaced about fifteen of these in the signal board. The power supply board had two caps replaced. This is very time consuming and takes great effort not to destroy the circuit traces. One other thing, If this model has an external power supply (transformer connected to power cord), I would certainly look at this as the first problem. Remember, I have not repaired this particular model. This information is very good and most reliable. Take this note to a TV tech near you and have him quote you his solution and price. You have confidence to take with you. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

How to unlock polaroid FLM
Hi,
In Child Lock On mode, the buttons on the TV do not work. A prompt
"Panel buttons are being locked" will be displayed. However, the remote
control buttons will still function. When the TV is on and the Child Lock is on, a prompt "Locked, power off after 6s" will appear. Use the remote
control to control the TV. Otherwise, the TV will automatically enter into Standby mode.
For program lock Input the default password of 1235.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

No volume
Hi,
First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes the speaker.
If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then check for bad connections to the loudspeaker. Test the loudspeaker by disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.
Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.
If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker, that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were bad, I would expect some noise/humm pickup from the low level audio stages. Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the contacts for corrosion or looseness.
Hope this help in solving the problem....

I have the same problem. Brought it into TV repair shop, and it worked fine. He believes it may be my power adapter. Shopping for a new one. Hope that does the trick.
