I found a power supply for this TV on Ebay but it is about $150.00 and is not guaranteed for more than a month.I found it after I sent for one that did not work with the TV.If I do try the right spec unit...12V 3Amp with light and fan and it works, I will try to get back to inform you all....CDM

I had a pwer supply for my Protron 32 inch TV that was not working. I bought the one on ebay and it stopped working after only three weeks. Ultimately I found a guy who could fix my original power supply for a reasonable price. It been working for a year now with no problems. I wish I would have tried him first!!!! i had the same issue with a thinkpad T61 which i was connecting using VGA and a audio jack going straqight from the headphone socket to the back of tv.
I had picture but no sound and i found that once connected the issue could be solved by rotating the projection setting on the laptop(Fn+F7). Basically switched back to laptop only display, then back to laptop and projector display again and teh sound just kicked in. 
i think it's related to the projector setting on the laptop rather than an issue with the tv.

I have a Protron 32" LCD. My power supply crapped out as so many others have. There are several web sites that have the same complaints about the Protron LCD TV. Most of them refer to a bad power supply. A replacement power supply is almost impossible to get. However, I found that some people had their power supply repaired by a man in California. They even posted a link to his email address. I live in New york, but I figured, what else have I got to lose? If this doesn't work, I need a new TV anyway! His name is Dave Simpson and he responded to my email the next day. I shipped my power supply to him, and he fixed it! I got it back, plugged it in, turned on the television just in time to see my football team get destroyed! The whole process took less than a week! The best thing about this is that the cost of the repair was quite reasonable! This is especially true when you think of how much a new television would cost you! He even takes Paypal! IT SHOULD NOT NEED A "REPAIR" PER SAY. HOWEVER, I OWN AN LCD TV, BUT NOT A PROTRON. YOU'RE GONNA FIND THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL LCD TV'S. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS SIMPLY DIRTY. THIS IS THE WAY YOU CLEAN YOUR SCREEN. IT IS VERY EASY AND FAST, AND YOU SHOULD HAVE THE SOLUTION IN YOUR KITCHEN AND BATHROOM. TAKE THE CLEANEST, MOST SOFT CLOTH YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE. DAMPEN,NOT SOAK IT, WITH WATER, AND LIGHTLY RUB A SMALL SECTION OF THIS STAIN, AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF SIMPLE RUBBING ALCOHOL, AND TRY ANOTHER SMALL SPOT OF THE STAIN. IT SHOULD COME OFF. SOME OF MY "HI-TECH" FRIENDS USE STRAIGHT RUBBING ALCOHOL, AS IT HAS A TENDENCY TO EVAPORATE A LOT FASTER THAN WATER AND LESS LIKELY TO LEAVE ANY "WATER STAINS". HOWEVER, IF YOU CANNOT SEE THROUGH THIS STAIN, THEN YOU'RE BETTER OFF BUYING A NEW TV. SOUNDS LIKE SOME KIND OF LEAK OR MAYBE THE TV IS JUST NEVER SHUT OFF, THEREFORE BURNING IMAGES INTO THE SCREEN. FORTUNATELY, IF IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, YOU MAY GET HELP THERE. MY FIANCE TOUCHED THE LCD SCREEN WITH HIS FINGERS, AND IF YOUR FINGERS ARE DIRTY, THEY WILL LEAVE OIL STAINS. PEOPLE DO SOMETHING TO A PRIZE POSSESSION IN YOUR HOUSE, DONT TELL YOU THEN ACT LIKE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. ITS HILARIOUS. HOPEFULLY THE ISSUE YOU HAVE CAN BE FIXED BY YOU!

The HDMI cable was causing "Display connected non-HDCP compliant" error message to appear.
When I reconnected my DVD to TV using regular cable with 3 color connectors(i don't know what is the proper name for that cable) that error message no longer appears on my screen and I was able to watch my movie normally.

The codes for the 32' Protron are 1004 or 1011. However be aware that this may disable your defaults permanently. When we had the cable installed they changed the codes but on doing so, the TV was useless. On power up the led will go from red to green, then go back to red instead of giving a source option. Customer service is agravating and useless; this is Chinese company that is using the name ProtRon to ride on the better make of Proton. We bought it through ShopNBC, definitely a big mistake since they are of no help either. We have taken the TV to a repair shop; they say its a main board but they are having extreme difficulty getting help from Protron; only delays and excuses. There are more issues riding on all this that has prompted my wife and I to seek a class action.

I had success geting a comparable a c adaptor at this company.
