I would recommend disconnecting your battery and see if that helps. As far as the owner's manual, it is worthless by far. It does recommend however, to press the reset button but does not clearly specify how to accomplish that.

Yellow is your constant +12 volt wire, and red is your switched +12 volt wire. It sounds like either your Red or Yellow wire isn't supplying the +12 volts it needs to.
