Lenovo laptops

1. Check to make sure that you have good air flow around the laptop, including sides and bottom. 2. Make sure fan/heatsink area is clear of dirt, etc. If you are using the laptop in an environment where there is a lot of dust, it will clog up the fan/heatsink. Check the Lenovo support forum to see how the clogged heatsink looks. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y560-overheating-and-shutting-down/m-p/677023 Be aware to get to access to the insides, will require dis-assembly of the laptop. Best left to experts.

Funtional keys are not working in lenovo

Function keys on many laptops are used as the secondary set and the individual functions of the keys have been shifted to the primary functions. Thus, if you press F1 and things are normal, you would get some kind of "help" But if, as in many laptops, the functions of those "F" keys has been reversed you might get an Internet key, a brightness key, some kind of CD opening key, or whatever the manufacture decided. F2, as another instance, is used to trigger "edit" of the current item....but in many laptops pressing F2 just turns off your wireless signal or dims the screen slightly. In those cases the way to access the expected Fkey functions is to hole the Fn key down (at the bottom left of the keyboard) then press the desired F key. Personally I find it nuts to have reversed an PC age old way but I'm not in charge of keeping people happy so it's not happening. Hope that helps.

unfortunately this is a common problem for this device what you may want to do is call the manufacturer and notify them and they can normally send a restore disc for you as long as you have proof of purchase.

Lenovo z560 cpu overheating problem solved

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail. A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

I just bought my Lenovo

No worries, you should still be able to get onto your computer. It will just take a little elbow grease.
Alright, so the first thing you need to do is turn off your laptop and then the steps will follow as such:
1. Turn the power on your laptop on
2. Press the F8 key on your keyboard as your laptop starts up
3. You will notice a few choices available to you at the menu that will come up, choose safe-mode with networking.
4. Your screen will fill with all kinds of writing indicating that it is loading files. Don't panic, this is normal do no turn off the laptop.
5. It will bring you to the login screen of windows, here you will want to choose Administrator. No password should be required(if we got lucky with this)
6. Once windows has fully loaded, go ahead and click start, then control panel, then find user accounts and family safety.
7. once in here, there should be an option to edit your account. Go ahead and make the changes necessary to your password.
8. once this has been done and everything is has been applied, go ahead and restart your computer.

if you follow these instructions, you should be able to get your account back up and running no problem. i wish you the best of luck.

HOW TO EJECT A DISC IN LENOVO IDEAPAD 330

The CD/DVD drive may be opened by pressing a button on the drive itself. If the drive does not open by pressing a button on the drive itself, or the button is not available on the drive, Windows natively provides the ability to eject the tray with simple methods that can be performed in the File Explorer. The steps vary from different operating systems:
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 10
Note:
  • Not all systems come with a CD-ROM, CD-RW, or DVD drive installed internally to the computer
    • To verify that, you can check the left and right side of your machine. See if there is any slot to insert your CD/DVD. Normally, there is a button to eject the CD or DVD tray for you to insert a disc
    • Another method to identify this is as below: 1. Click Start and type Device Manager in the search box. Select Device Manager 2. In Device Manager look for DVD/CD -ROM Drives If you don"t see DVD/CD -ROM Drives this means your device has no optical drive hardware. An external optical drive will need to be purchased to run CD/DVD. It is also wise to check your product specification to see if your device has an optical drive. If you were previously able to play CD/DVD and DVD/CD -ROM Drives has disappeared from device manager or your device is not reading the disc please follow > Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs.
  • The format capabilities of the drive are listed on the label on the external cover of the drive
  • The CD-ROM, CD-RW, or DVD drive can be opened using the emergency eject hole (Bend away a leg of a paperclip to work with. Insert the paperclip slowly until there is resistance, then gently push until the drive door is opened) Applicable Brands
    • ThinkPad
    • IdeaPad
Solution ·Windows 10 ·Windows 7 Eject disk tray with File Explorer
    1. Turn off all applications currently using the drive. Otherwise Windows will prevent you from ejecting the DVD tray
    2. Hold Windows + E on the keyboard to open File Explorer
    3. Click the DVD drive icon and click the "Eject" button on the toolbar or right-click on the optical drive and choose Eject from the menu that pops up or down.
