Activision Tony Hawk: Shred Questions & Answers
Tony hawk shred board will
My husband was ready to throw this game out the window instead of returning it because he was so upset...so nice for our 10 year-old on Christmas morning. Researched online and lots of people said putting two older batteries into the board with two of the new ones. We did that and also had to move the couch into the hall and then it finally calibrated!! Don't give up keep trying everything but the two older batteries helped. Once it was calibrated we moved the couch back and it seems to work fine. So far it seems like a cool game!

Don't waste your time!! Throw the piece of **** in the trash!! I have been trying to get it do work must of the day also. Tired all the tricks posted around the net. My wife bought this junk off Ebay, so we are basically out $80.00. For those who can return yours, run don't walk and get your money back.

I had the same problem. Dont use the batteries that come with the board. Use slightly older ones. After switching the batteries re-calibrate the board and that should do the trick.

If that doesn't work, there have been many reports of users being unab;e to calibrate because of the lighting in the room (too bright, too dim, both can affect the sensor), lighting from the TV (again, too bright or dim). Try turn the board parallel to the TV, so you'll be side on to the TV.

It's possible that walls, people, or other entities are triggering the IR sensors on the sides of the board. To prevent this issue, make sure that there are four feet of free space on all sides whenever playing and that there are no large metal objects nearby.
Return to the main menu and select "Options", then select "Calibrate Board" and follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure to follow the steps exactly and hold the board in the calibrating positions for the amount of the time the video that is play is telling you.
During the initial IR sensor calibration process ensure that you are standing away from the board and that you are motionless. When it is time to calibrate each individual IR sensor you will then be shown some positions on the board to hold. Ensure that your entire foot is covering the lens of the particular IR sensor you are instructed to cover. Also ensure the board is facing the right direction. The buttons on the board should be on the left side of the board. Cover the whole sensor for the full count. Tony Hawk will say "Got it" when the timer is finishing. Continue to hold that board position until the button prompt to continue appears. Stepping off of the board before that will cause an error even after Tony Hawk says "Got it". You do not need to press a button to continue to move on to the next step. The calibration video will move on to the next step on its own.
If you still have issues with the calibration then try lowering the lights in the room. Sometimes bright lights can interfere with the IR sensors.
hope this helps

My tony hawk SHRED board
I have been trying since Dec. 23, 2010 to calibrate this board; this is my son's... got it for him for his 8th birthday........... finally! tonight! i GOT it, after trying the batteries, moved furniture and got out the measuring tape, the repositioning of the wii, dongle, and sensor bar, directv box off, lights off, and left for hrs... nothing worked UNTIL i did all of the above AND placed a light colored sheet under the board, completely laid out, covering the dark maroon carpeting AND it worked the FIRST TIME.... after numerous attempts in the past 15 days. my son is gonna be THRILLED when he wakes up tomorrow.....
I have Tony Hawk Shred
What worked for me after returning 4 times was to set the sensor settings in the wii settings to below the tv but put the sensor above the tv with 2 old and 2 new batteries
I cant get shred board
Two of batteries that came with the board where almost 1.6volts while the other two where1.52 volts I changed out the batteries that came with board and game with 4 used AA batteries. Then moved the board back about 5'9 inches and this worked. I believe it is due to a high DC battery Voltage that causes this problem. I retested this again useing the higher voltage and got the same errors. then changed back to correct voltage and the board calibrated right away. This solved my problem. I hope this helps you. Make sure you test your batteries with a multi meter to make sure they are around 1.2volts to 1.52volts any higher than this gave my kids board a calibration problem. good luck hope this helps.
