Okay. You would need to change your motherboard. The socket 478 does not support dual core processors.

Here is a motherboard and processor combination at a relatively good price.

For some reason I must have gotten an older version of the board in the title when I looked it up but, nonetheless, it won't support the E2180.

Hi, does the pc load up to bios and does the pc power up, how did you reset cmos was it by the jumper or by the battery if you done one try the other. If none of that works, you may off blew or damages the power supply unit, you could of also damaged the motherboard which can happen because this same thing happened to me. and the cpu may have been damaged. get back to me with more details of what i said above and are see what i can do for you. check your display card. it seems to be faulty.
If its onboard then use any PCI display card and try to boot. If its booting up then its confirm your onboard display got damaged.
Other than check settings in BIOS if there is any setting for VGA/VGA etc..

U have to find the motherbord's manual !!!! U will find there all u need. But most probably u won;t be able to put those processors (the speed diferences are too big, even if they are of the same slot type)
