that audio jack is input only it is stereo jack to connect from the comptuer to the tv when using the RGB input. most headphone jacks if they are there would be on the side of flat panel tvs. otherwise the audio output may be digital(optical) or normal rca (red and white) that you can hookup to the headphone system.

hi it sounds that you have a problem with the t-con board. but before you come up with replacement with new board tried to re seat the cable wire which may have loose connection.
