You need to reattach the rubber nipple facing up. It's the part that makes contact with the board to signal to the computer the spacebar has been pressed. Most of them are free floating under the key or even gluing it on would be fine. The keys can be a bit tricky to pop off. Use a plastic pry bar, you an find these online for a couple dollars.

You need to copy the Hirens boot CD files on an uncompressed USB memory stick.

If you don't see the initial BIOS screen you could have a problem with one of the following.

• A bad motherboard
• Bad memory
• In some cases a bad Hard drive

Remove the hard drive and memory (both typically removed from panels on the back. Try rebooting. If you get the HP BIOS screen then either the memory or hard drive is bad. Add each back in one at a time and reboot until you find the problem device and replace. I would also power on the computer and use a flash light on the screen. If you see a faint image of what you should normally see then you have a bad inverter. Lastly your motherboard is bad, not a lot you can do to test that.

Check driver in Device Manager for Network adapters. Also check network connection (enable) in control panel. Test with cable if no problems are found.

Hi there, The reason your laptop isnt detecting the hardrive during install is cause of the Sata controller.
