These unit as small as they are have to be worked on by professionals that know how to fix them. So far as I know there is only me in Chicago and Russ in New Jersey that can repair them. Without seeing the unit I can not tell you more about how to fix it. It could be anything in the unit that has the problem.

The grease in the mechanism may have gotten hard after all this time and I have seen that model fail inside of 90 days of purchase. It does not use a Sony high end transport. Needs to be seen by a Technician who used to work on those.

the machine vu lights were dim the reel motors ran then the lights got dimmer and the reel motors stopped its quite old now but never let me down . best regards kirk

Common problem with these decks-the capstan motor needs to be replaced- A DIY job if you are careful and have some mechanical common sense- Tascam still sells these motors, around $100

The best reproduced manuals are at Stereomanuals.com as this is where I get mine from. Why do you need such a drawing? I will look as what I have here. The mechanical drawing might help and it might not. If they- whom ever fixed it lost parts they did you a dis-service. Now a spare unit will be needed to get parts from.
