Teac RW-D200 / RW-D250 Dual-Deck CD Player and CD-R/CD-RW Recorder CD Player Questions & Answers
How do you raise the recording level on a teac
I have the same problem. Are you copying an analog source? (tape?) Even though the "0 db" level is activated, (button on upper right on front panel) the level rises to -12...max. I suspect the auto-level is preset at the factory? Even with an EQ boost there is no level increase. Drives me nuts! Must have to recalibrate it; but I've no idea how...

Go to the Teac website. download manual you should find the solution there. You may have set something to auto sync
The playback drawer will not open, continues to
There should be a small hole on the playback drawer to allow a manual opening of the drawer. The player does not have to be on and preferably should be off when doing the manual eject. Take a paper clip, straighten out one leg, then push it into the hole about 1/4 inch until you hear a click and the drawer should open.

Hi There,I have a TEAC
Find them on eBay. The restriction on consumer CD recorders was a concession to the recording industry to collect a small fee per each recordable 'music' disc and distribute it to the artists to compensate for the presumed (and likely) loss of revenue from home copying.
I have a Teac PD-495
Sounds like the door may have something sticky around the edges. Even a little sticky stuff (like from candy-coated fingers...?) can prevent the door\drawer of any CD player from opening.
Try gently "assisting" the door during the few seconds it's trying to open. If it seems like it's not sticking to the housing try the manual eject button.
Depending on your specific device, there should be a very small hole near the door\drawer (Refer to your owners manual for the exact location). It will be just big enough to stick the end of a large paperclip into. Insert the end of a paperclip into the hole and push firmly (make sure nothing is blocking the door\drawer from opening) and the door\drawer should open slightly. Then pull the door\drawer open the rest of the way. If you have to do this, make sure the power is off as the unit might try to close the drawer automatically while you're trying to pull it open.
Once you have the drawer open, inspect the inner surface of the drawer and the area it contacts for anything sticky. Clean with a damp cloth only. Do not spray any cleaner on the unit. If you need to use any cleaners, spray them on the cloth. Clean the area around the inner drawer faceplate and surrounding areas. Let dry for a few minutes then power up and test for operation. It should work fine now.
If not, it may be time to replace this old unit with a new one as repair costs generally exceed the cost of replacement.
Hope this answers your problem. Good Luck!
Hello my teac rw-d250 will
Have you tried loading another blank disc or can it read any other discs? If the answer is NO, I would say that the optical sensor (crystal) is not working.
If it's still under the warranty, I would suggest to send it to the manufacturer and have them repair it for you. If you're going to send it to another repair shop to replace the optical sensor, it's better to buy a new one. Because the optical sensor's price is just like the price of brand new.
Thank you and good luck!
