The turntable speed is controlled by a belt, which is virtually a big rubber band. If it spinning too fast , then this means the belt is too tight. The only way this can happen is for the unit to be fitted with an incorrect size belt. You didn't say if you have a new unit, or a second-hand one, or if it has recently had the belt replaced. If it is a new unit and still under warranty, take it back to the retailer and ask them to fix it for you. Again, if you have recently had the belt replaced, take it back and ask them to do the job again, and this time to please use the correct belt.
