go to Staples or office max or depot and take your old printer head and replace it. The old head is probably too worn or too dirty cleaning it won't work. Also when you get your new printer head dont use the ink refills. It is cheap ink and will ruin the printer head. It will also void the warranty, it you have any warranty left. Use the ink the printer recommends only.

you may ned to unistall and then reinstall your printer, every one in a while a printer driver update can cause an error in the system where the printer is listed as ready and printing but never buffers, so the fix is to unistall and reinstall it.

Reseat the cartridges. There should be a way on how to perform a hardware reset on your device. Try to check the manual, or contact their tech support hotline.

If it worked before you took to it cartridge world and the only change you made was the ink cartridge, I would suspect that as the problem. Double check your connections after turning off the computer. Double check that the new color cartridge is properly seated by taking it out and putting it back in again. In fact, check both color and black, just to make sure neither one was josteld loose on the trip home.

If this does not work, go to start, printers and faxes, delete this printer. Shut the computer down, turn off the printer for a few. Then plug in the computer power, and plug in the printer connection to the computer. The computer should recognize the printer and try to connect with it.

I found this on some other pages.

Error 41's can be caused by the carriage losing position, there is a timing fence (a plastic strip) which goes through the carriage assembly a light (opto) counts the extreemly fine black lines on the strip so the printer knows where the carriage is. This strip collects ink, dust etc. and will require cleaning. otherwise the printhead(carriage) loses its position throwing up a 41 error. You can clean this strip with isoproprol or just a bit of tissue and warm water, becareful you dont pull it off otherwise it can be a fiddly going on putting it back without taking the covers off. :o)
THE ERROR 41 INDICATES AN INCORRECT VOLTAGE COMMING FROM THE PRINTHEAD, THE PRINTHEAD WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE HEAD I.D. WILL NEED TO BE RESET, ALSO, BROTHER RECOMENDS THAT YOU CHANGE ALL OF THE INKS TO NEW INKS. THE RESETING OF THE HEAD I.D. CAN ONLY BE PREFORMED BY AN ATHORIZED BROTHER SERVICE CENTER. THIS REPAIR CAN NOT BE PREFORMED BY THE END USER. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hi there

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.
My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.
If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

I would make sure and download them again then check to see if they donwloaded. make sure the paper and ink cardliges are filled. also make sure that all the plugs are plugged in correctly

the printer is not recognizing setup

if you filled the ink with some of the kits, the ink was not totally compatible with brother printer, and most likely dried inside. if that is not the case, do the cleaning from the brother menu screen for all ink cartridges. if you under warranty call brother. it might take a while to fix, since they may send a local tech to replace the head since that is mostlikely issue. if out of warranty, you best likey choice, curb it and get new one with extended warranty.

To start ensure that is not a software problem.
Go to Control Panel >> Installed Printers. Remove the printer. Install the printer again using the software disk or downloading the driver software from Brother website.
If that does not fix the problem, and the printer prints blank sheets, then it is usually a clogged printhead.
The printheads can be cleaned removing the ink carriage and soaking it in isopropyl alcohol overnight. If that does not work, then the printhead must be replaced.

Try to look it out if you have a usb port from your printer to your computer and its been connected properly.

I get this problem when I used re-filled cartridges, but take no notice until the ink fails.

I have a Brother MFC-665CW. I need to scan pictures and send them to my email. When I press the 'send to email' button it finds my pc and says 'connecting to pc' then nothing happens.
