2. Press right arrow under LCD display.
3. Press 1 (digit one) on keypad.
4. Close the cover

Done.

Brother mfc-9700 buttons quit working.

make sure you don't have a button stuck in the down position. it will lock up control panel. if all else fails, try unplugging for a couple of minutes.

How do I make my

No ! I have NOT solved the problem of how to Make this F***King thing scan an image. Your manual is worthless, and since your much touted "free" tech support seems to consist of nothing beyond trying to extort exhorbinant fees from your customers for the information that should have been in the manual in the first place, I am tempted to chuck the damn pile of junk out the window and invest in some other product that actual does work.

Making copys

You need to update the driver of your printer. First, try to reinstall everything like the software and driver that came with your device. If that doesn't work, updating the driver will fix your problem.

White paper no longer white

You are probably getting low on toner. Your printer also might just need a little cleaning. I would open up the front of the printer and take out the toner/drum. Wipe off the edge of the toner cartridge with a dry cloth to remove excess toner. Replace the toner cartridge and see if this works!

How to photocopy?

Unfortunately, the Brother 9700 is not a "duplex" printer, meaning is does not print/scan/copy both sides of the paper. There is no way to solve this problem, other than to buy a new, duplex printer. Sorry!

Try removing the fuser to check inside of it and behind it for paper scraps. (Note: the fuser gets extremely hot, so make sure your printer is unplugged and cool before touching the fuser!)

How to replace the ink cartridge in my brother 9700 all in one printer.

You may find it very hard due to it being a laser machine, laser printers do not use ink, they use toner. Toner cartridge is replaced by openning front door and removing the tn-350 from the drum unit it sits in and replacing the cartridge with new, the front door has two doors tou want the whole front pulled down to see cartridge.
