I have a Wolf gourmet 30" stove. it's about 10

Interesting, I'm looking for a solution to a similar issue. Our new (7 month old) 30'' Wolf Range has this issue. When both front burners are light, the back burner's electronic starter begins to click, but only when you put a pan on the front left burner. I believe the iron/steel in the pan is causing a magnetic field thats starting the rear burner to go off.. just don't know.. will report back after the repair person comes.

Wolf range cooktop

I just installed a Wolf gas cooktop and had the same problem in that all 4 burners would light just fine but the electronic igniters would not stop clicking on all four. What I found was that the electrical outlet that my gas cooktop was plugged into had the polarity reversed. I tested the outlet with a polarity testing module (you can get one at Home Depot and it checks polarity, grounding, GFI and is handy to have around, small and inexpensive). I plugged it in and the lights told me that the polarity was reversed. I reversed the wires in the outlet (exchanged the white and black wires) put the cover back on, plugged in the cook top and now it works like a champ! no more constant clicking. By the way, we had a cooktop before this one with electronic ignition and never had a problem, apparently it didn't care about the polarity.

My ignition will not stop

hi friend,
There are a few things to check for. Make sure the electrode ( the small metal piece that the spark comes off from ) is clean and the holes in the burner are clean, use a pin or paper clip to clean out the burner holes and NOT a tooth pick as these can break off and make things worse. Example of a burner. The next thing to check for are the ignition switches under the surface control knobs, the switches can twist and break and keep the spark module on and the spark keeps "clicking" even when the burner is light. If every thing looks good, you may have a bad spark module, replace it. Sometimes cleaning can get moisture into the surface switches, try drying them with an hair dryer to see of this will help.
it sounds like it is the spark module that's making the clicking noise. normally there are 4-6 wires that connect to it , and if you are not comfortable making the repair yourself then I would call an appliance repair company. The part should cost 30-50 $ Good luck
hope this helps u
please rate me.......................
thank u for using fixya

All 6 top burners have leaking compression flex

Youcan try tightening them up yourself. Need two adjustable wrenches, one to hold the connector to the burner and the other to tighten the compression fitting. After that have a solution of water and soap and spray all around your fittings to see if its still leaking, you will see bubbles, If its still leaking you will have to turn yourgas supply valve off and disconnect flex gas lines replace with new ones. After replacing do the same thing spray with the solution to see if they leak.If you dontfeel comfortable doing this dont.

My defy slimline cooktop shows ER42 but I changed the capacitors, what is wrong?

The ER42 error code typically indicates an issue related to insufficient power being delivered to the ceramic element. Check Power Supply: Ensure that the cooktop is receiving adequate power. Verify that the power supply is stable and not fluctuating. Inspect the PCB (Printed Circuit Board): Since the error points to a fault on the PCB, visually inspect the control board for any signs of damage, loose connections, or burnt components. Capacitors: You mentioned that you've already changed the capacitors. While this is a good step, it's essential to ensure that the new capacitors are correctly installed with the same rating and polarity. Reset the Cooktop: Turn off the power to the cooktop completely. Disconnect it from the mains for a few minutes, then reconnect it and power it back on. Sometimes, a reset can clear minor glitches. No joy? Consider professional repair.
