InFocus ScreenPlay 7205 Multimedia Projector Questions & Answers
The SP7205 will only show
Unfortunately the highest video signal you'll receive through composite is 480p. To achieve anything higher than the said signal, you'll need to utilize either the component or DVI input of the projector. Those inputs will detect any HD signals.
Also if you've not done so already, you'll need to check the settings of your DVD player to make sure that it's outputting 720p and/or 1080i/p signal. Hope this helps you out.

I have black veritcal lines
This is an unusual hardware defect and you should send in the model back to infocus for repair. The model is problably out of production so they will problably send you a replacement model. That happen to me when my projector had a serious posteurization problem (stripes of colors waves in mid range dark scenes, a form of Color Banding), they just sent me a replacement model I had to wait for nearly three weeks, which I placed nearly 300 hours on the bulb. The good news the new projector came with a new bulb, so a free 300 hours out of it, I guess.
My suggestion is wait it out until they return your projector. I am also curious how often you clean up your projector? Most hardware defects are caused by lack of maintenance to the projector, such as not cleaning it regularly and environment and temperature that you use it in. There is also a weird design with the ventilation where ventilation also comes to the bottom of the projector I had to design my ceiling mount for that compromise. It's a good performing projector, but it's design isn't that great, especially with the recent projectors. I feel your pain though

Take a look at the status lights on your projector and see what they are doing. Then compare them with this chart.

Black band through image
If the band is completely across or down either side it means the light tunnel in the light engine has collasped. This will have to be replaced by a technician.

After having the projector on for 15-20 minutes
The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

your main board is bad or the board on the light engine is bad. you can try to reseat the main board to the engine. if that doesn't work it can't be determined with out a test fixture.
