Zenith DVT216 System Questions & Answers
Have dvd that say check regional code how do i do this ?
sounds like you have purchased the wrong region coded dvd`s when you bought them from amazon? if you are in the US you can only play Region 1, Europe is Region 2 and so on. Unless you purchase a mlti region machine which is obviously not what you want to do then the only other play of playing the wrong region discs is to buy a cheap dvd player which has "DivX" compatability which will play any region for you.
DVD door does not open
It is likely that the worm gear is stripped on your DVD drive. It is not an expensive part to buy, but often times it can take a long painful while for an inexperienced person to replace.
DVT216 Audio Problem: No sound at all
JUNK IT!!! this unit is notorious for junker style problems... I just helped someone out with a similar concern.
Buy a new one of a different type! Sony even offers dreamsystems that arent expensive, arent good, but at least wont pull a buzz and deadness overnight on you...
Good Luck!
DVD playback problems
Did you buy these DVD's out of the country? Are they burned? did you pick English and the United States of America when you set up the dvd player?
Try unplugging the player for an hour, plugging in and resetting everything up
How do i hook this to tv or digital cable to get surround sound?
Sorry to say, Circuit City is right. These cheap home theatre in a box solutions are very very shady. They put the DVD player, preamp, and reciever all in one little box. Not very handy to adding options or plugs but very very cheap to produce. Ever notice why large home treaters have about 5 big black boxes and a DVD player? This little box is trying to be all of them.
If this was a reciever combo(as zenith wants you to think) then you could do EVERYTHING you were thinking would just make sense. Unfortunately, you trusted Zenith instead of Circuit City(gah i hate saying that). At any rate, if you still have receipt, return it!!!!
I will help you pick a system to suite your needs. I do all the things you want on a system i got for 500 bucks.
Dvd door
In the user or instruction guide, there should be a way they show you how to open the tray door if a disc becomes stuck most of the time. if it does not then the unnits going to have to be taken apart, and if you havent a clue how it disassembles you could cause more problems. The units going to have to go into a repair shop because this is a solid state unit and its not a serviceable unit to a user.
Can anyone help me fix some record players?
It's possible that there could be a problem with both record players. Here are some things to check:
For the Swingmate Concert Hall Automatic Record player:
- Check to make sure the power cord is securely plugged in and that the outlet it's plugged into is working.
- Check to see if there's a power switch on the back of the record player that needs to be turned on before the main power switch can be activated.
- Check to see if the main power switch is stuck or blocked in some way. If so, try gently pushing or pulling it to see if it will move.
For the Zenith 4 speaker stereophonic record player:
- Check to make sure the power cord is securely plugged in and that the outlet it's plugged into is working.
- Check to see if there's a power switch on the back of the record player that needs to be turned on before the main power switch can be activated.
- Check to see if the knob is stuck or blocked in some way. If so, try gently pushing or pulling it to see if it will move.
- Check to see if there's a safety mechanism preventing the turntable from starting up. Some record players won't turn on if the tonearm is not in the correct position or if the record player cover is not closed.
If these suggestions don't work, it may be best to take the record players to a professional technician for further inspection and repair.
