Power is power. As long as the stereo is getting the right amount of power then it will do every function. I would not know why the pause button would stop working from it running off the battery

Just in case you try to follow directions like me, make sure that you have removed the cover inside the cd slot. No, directions aren't great. They are as difficult as any I have ever seen, but when I tipped the unit up, I saw a note on the bottom of the cd shiny cover that says remove before playing. After removing the flat cover press the button to turn the light off. Light on means standby, not on. Insert cd and push function. Then push play/pause button on right. Hope this helps. If not, return to store.

Try a laser eye cleaner. It possibly may need to be dusted on the inside. Overheating can cause strange things to happen to electronics.

This sounds too simple to fix your problem but on mine you push alarm clock once for on and again for off. Hope that helps.

I just bought the unit last night and had the same problem. You need to take out the cardboard that's currently inserted as part of the new packaging. That should solve your problem.

That may be the stereo telling you to flip the tape over which you obviously cannot do.

Wal-Mart sells them.

Try cleaning the inside of it. Dust and what not can wreak havoc on electronics. That's cool, I used "what not and wreak havoc" in the same sentence. Hope this helps.

as i read the specification on this model, it is not possible to remove power totally from the cd player and then power up and continue. (ignition is in your car ?)

But, you can connect power to the cd player,after the ignition switch. Normally this supply is available behind the standard car radio. You can use a standard 12 volt (depends on you car supply voltage) bulb to search for the correct wire.

Often this information are also available in the instruction book for the car.
