Remove a battery from a canon Power Shot SX20IS that looks like it leaked and is stuck in its battery slot?

Might be a difficult fix. You'll need to gently pry out the battery using something like a dental pick (I've used these with great success and you can get them at hobby stores or hardware stores). If the damage isn't too great you can gently clean the contacts and inside of the camera with a DAMP QTip using alcohol. After cleaning, use a solution of baking soda and water to DAMPEN a QTip and swab all the surfaces that came in contact with the battery acid to neutralize it or it will continue to corrode. Allow it to dry and then swab is again with alcohol to clean away the residue. Keep the battery door open for a day or so to allow it to dry out and be very careful with water around the electronics. If the corrosion is too great you're better off getting another camera. If the battery leaked into the camera it will continue to corrode anything it touches.

When I try to transfer images from my A2200, the camera won't stay on. I have recharged the battery, but it doesn't seem to work properly. Should I order a new battery?

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa. Organize edit and share your photos As for the battery, does the camera work when not transferring pictures? That is, can you take and review pictures, etc?

How do I get the CD rom for my Canon powershot Sd900?

Perhaps you can type canon powershot sd900 software into Google and download it from the internet. As long as it is from the canon website, it should be safe. Ask a techy friend to help you if you're not sure. Good luck!

I have a Canon Powershot A1000 - put in a new Sundisk 4GB SDHC memory card - reads "memory card error"

As much as it hurts - cards go bad all of the time. If this is a card that you have used previously with good success and it now wont read on your camera you might try a data recovery service to pull whatever they can from your card otherwise it could be a bad card (even if new) and you will need to get a new one. Good luck

How to recover deleted photos

If the photos were on a memory card and you haven't done anything to the card since you deleted the photos then you may be able to recover at least some of the photos. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Take the memory card out of the camera and put it into a card reader attached to your computer. Cross your fingers and run the program.

Possibly a defective memory card--if you're lucky. Have you tried using a different card?

How to fix E32 error on canon powershotSD1300IS

This error normally comes when your Canon camera lens gets stuck in the barrel itself. There are some steps which can be followed to resolve this problem which as follows, STEP 1: Switch on the camera while you hold the shutter button and connect it to the AC adapter or to the USB cable at the same time. STEP 2: Now by default the lens should get properly aligned if not try to twist them slightly by holding down the camera lens with soft hands. STEP 3: Just push and pull the lens slightly as it extends automatically. STEP 4: Now when the lens is in the hard surface power on your camera. STEP 5: Try to hit the camera softly beside the lens which might solve the issue. You can try to format the memory card completely and then reinsert to your camera which might be the issue at times.

All of a sudden my power Shot SD1000 Digital Elph is taking blurry pictures. HELP.

Camera shake is more likely the reason. These cameras do not have image stabilizers so a steady hand is a must. A mini tripod is a great item to use. Or just sit it on a ledge and press and see if it is any better. Also setting it on self timer (while on the ledge) gives the camera a chance to be stable without you touching it. Hope this helps. Also check what setting you have it on.

Why does my camera say it is full after 6 pictures on a 16M card which has been erased. The card is not locked.

Because each picture is 2.5MB each. Buy a larger card.
