KLH R7000 Receiver - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Program the klh r7000 remote

With the unit disconnected, remove the top cover to reveal the fuse, which is located near the large capacitors, diodes, and power transformer netgear r7000 speeds supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz wireless frequencies, . I believe the issue with your receiver is more serious than a blown fuse. Check for a short circuit before replacing the fuse. If there is a short circuit, especially in the power amp section (which is frequent to fail), replacing the fuse without testing it may make the situation worse.

It has power but it clicks off

First thing to check is theat there is no shorts in your speaker cabling either damaged cabling or ends toching together at the amp or speaker connections.
If there is notheing tounching, try unplugginging ALL of the speaker wires then start it up again, if it doesn't click off then carefully check all of your speaker connections. try plugging them in one at a time while turning it on and seeing if it clicks off.

If it isn't a problem you might have a problem in the power supply or amplifier modules of your reciever - That problem would be one for the pros!
Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

I have a KLH 700watt home theater reciever that wont stay on!!

Sounds like it is overheating. Try one or all of the following:

Remove anything that may be stored on top of it. Unblock the vents.

Connect speakers with a higher sensitivity rating.

Move it to an area where it has more airflow around it, ie; not in a closet or cabinet.

Disable any bass-boost and equalization, or tone controls.

Set any crossover settings for any subwoofer you may have connected, to a higher frequency.

Decrease your listening volume.

I own a KLH R7000 receiver and need to know what

Take the top cover off with the unit unplugged, you will see the fuse just beside the big capacitors, diodes and the power transformer(and fuse current rating is written on the board) . The problem with your receiver is worse than a fuse I suspect. So, before replacing the fuse check for short circuit. If there is a short circuit specially power amp section(which is common to fail) the problem might get worse when you rplace the fuse without checking it. :)

KLH Receiver Shorting Out

See if you can spot a pattern to the failures. I suspect that it is heat related. In the time that the unit ran all day, I suspect that the volume level was lower. Am I correct? If so, then either there are poor solder connections which are being effected by heat or there is a part that is defective. Are there any other symptoms or does the unit just shut off? If you attempt to turn it on, will it play for a while? If you can solder, look for solder connections that look grainy or have rings and resolder them.

Keep us posted on your progress,

Dan

WAS working fine but seems lost part of listening frequency (IC Burnt??) Help

I had a similar problem with popping and then no audio for an extended period of time. I found the solution on another site, http://dexsoft.com/blog/?p=15

Apparently the solder joints are weak, and just a the blog described when I opened up the receiver I saw the same scorch marks from overheating. Just as the blog described, I added solder to each of the joints in the photo and have had no problem ever since.

I am no solder expert, this is my 2nd time, but all I did is build up each of the joints and I have been listening to music, playing movies in surround sound with no problems for the last 2 weeks.

Audio receiver!

When I watch movies, most of the talking is directed to the center speaker. During surround sound, this gives a more realistic environment, with voices coming from the source (center where your tv is) and ambeint noise coming from the left/right corners.

Get a small center speaker to solve your problem.
