I want to be able to lisen TV thru the receiver, how can I do that?

Some TV's do not offer audio out. If yours is one of those, then you need to run the audio from your cable or sat box straight to your reciever instead of the TV.

What's your problem?no sound

Put your unit in Direct Mode or Pure Audio Mode. If you now have audio in your front right and left channels only then you have a problem with your DSP circuit. If you do not have audio at all, then check your + and - 15 or 12 volt lines. If the voltage is missing then you probably have a bad regulator.

Prologic does not work on my klh

HelloThe prologic digital processor board will have some loose solderings in it. If you are aware in electronics, and have experience in repairing this type of advanced audio equipment, just pull out the pro-logic processor board, and check for any loose solderings or any loose contacts. OK.

Don't have a manual or the remote for KLH audio

There should be numbered buttons on the receiver.Set the channel to what you want to preset, then press and hold down the numbered button you want. The sound will probably go away for a couple of seconds but when it comes back on the channel is preset. If you press the band button while you're already on FM and it goes to another FM,you can also preset more channels for FM.There should only be one AM band, then it will switch back to FM.
Good luck! Greg

My KLH 5100 System worked

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

My dog chewed up the power cable. Any ideas for

Most power cables are universal with only a handfull of different types. You could check if power cable for your sub woofer is the same with same amount of pins(2 or 3) and if its the same you could use your system without the woofer for now.. Just about any Electrical Dealer shop(ie.. sells tv's,computers etc) should have a replacement cable for you- just take in the end that connects to your stereo.

My sound doesn't work with

S-video would be a better choice than (yellow) composite video but it won't help the sound.

Not knowing anything about the DVD player and how you have it wired we can only guess what is wrong with IT or the connection to the KLH.

Have you looked at the manuals for the DVD and the KLH? You don't just hook it up and run with it. Digital Audio must be assigned, for example, and other stuff.

TRYING TO CONNECT MY EQ

The connections themselves are fairly simple but it pays to understand what happens in the loop. And since you don't name the EQ I'll make some broad generalizations that you should be able to adapt to your equipment. They're all pretty much the same for hook-up anyway.

In general, any Line-Level external processor (EQ, dynamic range expander, etc) will go into a Tape Monitor loop on a receiver. A Tape Monitor, when engaged, sends the selected stereo analog signal Out to the Processor, massages it and returns it to the receiver via the Tape Monitor IN connectors to be passed on to the receiver's internal processes (volume, tone, whatever).

Old school analog stereo-only receivers consistently work this way. Newer digital and audio/video receivers introduce a couple of problems: 1) digital sound processing to simulate a variety of soundfields; 2) multiple output channels, either discrete or digitally-generated.

The latter requires that whatever signal is being processed experiences a maximum of one analog-digital-analog conversion.

EVERYTHING analog coming into the modern digital receiver is automatically converted to a digital signal for internal processing unless you choose some form of STEREO-only or STEREO-Direct setting. Consequently, no further external analog-digital conversions would be allowed if, say, a Tape Monitor circuit was activated, and a possible feedback loop could otherwise be created in a digital-sourced selection (output to its own input), so the unit is wired to treat the Tape Monitor as the first analog step in the process and defeats any pure digital sources.

In a multichannel unit, what would happen to the other channels if you sent ONLY the Front Left & Right out for processing? The rest would NOT be processed. That logical problem also plays into the decision to defeat digital sources if the Tape Monitor is activated. I don't totally agree with the engineers but that's the way it is. Nature of the digital beast.

Okay, back to the hook-up:

It's should clearly marked on the back of the EQ where everything goes.

The Line IN and Line Out would go to any available Tape Loop on the receiver. Something that has Out's and In's. Obviously, Out's on one device go to In's on the next.

So, to sum up, you can only use the EQ or any outboard processor for analog stereo sources. If you actually want to use an analog recording deck or anothere processor you could place it within the typical Equalizer's own Tape Monitor loop(s). Many have two to facilitate equalized dubbing between decks and those loops can be engaged or bypassed via controls on the EQ or Processor
